When ever I hear the strains of America The beautiful I cant help but get greatly moved by its words of magnificence, perserverance and resolve. I may not be a political person but I am without a doubt patriotic. On July 4, 1776, we claimed our independence from Britain and Democracy was born. Every day thousands leave their homeland to come to the "land of the free and the home of the brave" so they can begin their American Dream.
The United States is truly a diverse nation made up of dynamic people. Each year on July 4, Americans celebrate that freedom and independence with barbecues, picnics, and family gatherings and dazzling firework displays. Everyone have a safe and happy holiday and be sure to count your blessing that we are fortunate to live in the greatest Nation of all
O beautiful for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties Above the fruited plain!
America! America! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea! O beautiful for pilgrim feet Whose stern impassion'd stress A thoroughfare for freedom beat Across the wilderness.
America! America! God mend thine ev'ry flaw, Confirm thy soul in self-control, Thy liberty in law.
O beautiful for heroes prov'd In liberating strife, Who more than self their country loved, And mercy more than life.
America! America! May God thy gold refine Till all success be nobleness, And ev'ry gain divine.
O beautiful for patriot dream That sees beyond the years Thine alabaster cities gleam Undimmed by human tears.
America! America! God shed His grace on thee, And crown thy good with brotherhood From sea to shining sea.

I have a great respect for our military, without them, we wouldn't live in a free country. They give their lives to protect and serve their country, doing it for the love of their country, not for money.
While Star Spangled Banner, America the Beautiful and others can move me..this song just really hits home.
I know Dove has seen it, but the slide show on it is awesome. Between the song and the slideshow, it can reduce me to tears in a heartbeat. Yeah, I know I am an old softy...lol
God Bless the USA
God Bless The U.S.A. by Lee Greenwood
If tomorrow all the things were gone, I’d worked for all my life. And I had to start again, with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars, to be livin here today. ‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom, and they can’t take that away.
And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today. ‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA.
From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee. Across the plains of Texas, From sea to shining sea.
From Detroit down to Houston, and New York to L.A. Well there's pride in every American heart, and its time we stand and say.
That I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free. And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today. ‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA.
And I’m proud to be and American, where at least I know I’m free. And I wont forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up, next to you and defend her still today. ‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land, God bless the USA.

It rained and thundered here too, but the early after was gorgeous! I think this is the first Fourth in at least 8 years that it has ever rained down here.

It was a good and soggy Fourth here too. I had a indoor picnic at my house complete with ants .. Then we were off to watch fireworks at a community down the road. I think it was the first time I watched fireworks IN the rain that I can recall. We were soggy but we had fun. E Angel is on her way home to Tallahassee and tonight two friends will be coming to visit till Sunday.
