Just wondering if we have any Florida veterans. Honorably served from 1980-1985 United States Marine Corps, was later recalled from active reserve 1990-1991 served in Kuwait and Iraq during Desert Storm. Awards include the Purple Heart, Defense Distinguished Service, and Kuwait Liberation Medal. Come from a family of old Navy Chiefs, my dad was a CMC on board a destroyer in Korea, an uncle a CMC in Vietnam, my grandfather was a CMC on the USS Missouri, a seaman at the time before Pearl Harbor.

While in Wisconsin, I meant someone in the army who just came back from Iraq. We chatted awhile and he told me all that he had been through. All I could say was "Thank you." I appreciated his selfless service in protecting this country, and I appreciate yours too, Craig.
So thank you.

My father was a PT3 in the Korean War. My uncle was in the Navy at one point and my grandmother pulled him out when he was to go off to war, but he joined the Army right after she did that and served through the Vietnam War.
I wrote this and have it on a military site:
I would like to thank all of you who have served and are now serving our country. I grew up in a military household and was married for 23 years to the military. As a military wife I came to understand the things that were expected. Long hours, little pay, and the months and months of deployments. I don't know the full of it but I understand it. I tip my hat to you, because if it were not for you I wouldn't be free to enjoy my life as I do. Thank you for all you have done, are doing, and will be doing. Most of all Stay safe

Your welcome Craig.
My Dad served in the Korean War too Honbee. My mom showed me letters he wrote to her when he was overseas. They were so romantic and poignant. He shipped off right after they were married.
