For your information Trump doesn't live in Florida and is not retired here. He may have one of many houses he has here but my understanding it is for sale! Actually Trump is investing now in Mexico which is where new surveys show Americans move becausethe cost of living is much less than FL and the crime situation can't be any worse.
Trump might not live here YET but as for mexico see my comments about the crime in the bahamas
if people can't talk about a man who can kill two people here in the U.S. and get off because he had eight million to pay lawyers then what can we talk about?
OH? my comment about people jumping on the band wagon about OJ rub you the wrong way? Too bad! Watching the news on the cable stations last night it seems that everybody is jumping on the band wagon to the point were it is getting annoying to hear about it. I find it strange that very few people are talking about that 'Road Rage" incident that he was arrested for 7 years ago and was found NOT guilty by trial jury is not being mentioned much! but incidents that happened 13 yrs ago are.
Keep in mind here in FL there is also new law for protection of people of Florida and if home invaders or others come around people homes to try and dictate what they can write here in the "land of the free" then homeowners now have right to defend themselves and their property without fear of criminal prosecution.
That law is called "the self protection act" and if memory serves that is under review for being unconstional since that shooting incident at the strip club where that taxi driver shot and killed a guy last year.As for your comment about 'dictating' what can be written here. I dont see anything here 'dictating' what can and can not be said here but according to you I guess we should also delete all blogs and forum posts here on MD that YOU dont agree with and/or comments from people that dont agree with YOU since you brought up the 'dictating' thing.
You started this debate with your complaint about Florida and looking for investers to move and invest with you in land in the bahamas because you dont like lawyers or the way Florida has changed over the years I disagree with your views about what your posts and YOU act like no one is allowed to argue with you about your views. But like JF says: IF you dont like Florida then get the hell out!

I'll admit there are things I don't really like about FL...being a right to work state would be one of them, but for the most part I do like it. There are still a lot of really nice places down here and not all us Yankee's are that bad.

YES we do need a girls night out...or day either one, but with my hours right now, it looks like I'll have more weekdays off then weekends. I don't even have a day off till next Tuesday, so it isn't going to be easy getting you, me, Dove and Honbee together...lol
Your right I haven't come out of my shell yet, I am still sweet and innocent...lol

Hi everyone...I love Florida...I love the changing seasons, the cool nights with a hint of frost.....the beautiful colors of the leaves falling gently to the ground......oh, wait....sorry....I love the unchanging season, the hot humid nights with a hint of a breeze (maybe no breeze)....the brown leaves, that I seem to have to rake all year, cascading down from every tree in my yard....
Really guys...I love Florida....did the snow for too many years...like to be able to play outside all year....but I also love the mountains as well.
How y'all doing?

Yes, the mountains are nice and many native Floridians go up to North Georgia or Nort Carolina mountains durings months of July and Aug. and half of Sept. to escape the heat. Hear other day on news new UCC football stadium has no water fountains and many passed out from heat and had to go to hospital. Now University in rush to install water fountains! There are web sites for the growing numbers of Americans wanting to leave the U.S. because of high cost of living, everyone sues everyone else, etc. and there are now web sites devoted to this growing number of people. One of them is International Living and another is escape artist, etc. There you will see just how common it is for people who are retired, etc. want to leave. Look at second largest city in Mexico where over 50,000 Americans live (mostly retired Navy people) because it is 72 degrees everyday of the year! To say people can't live elsewhere is to say this is not a free country!!!!

The law may be called self protection act but it is not related to a taxi driver shooting anyone. It is a law passed by FL legislator that applies to homeowners who are at their home when threatened or home is broken into, etc. You may be thinking of another law. In any event, it was you who told me I needed a lawyer( for what? Expressing my views here in the "land of the free"?) and that I wasn't going anywhere! Reminds me of O.J. now being charged with kidnapping because he said on recording "No one leaves this room" and based on that statement he is now charged with kidnapping! You are obviously not a retired person living on fixed income as many in Florida are. All I said in my post is that since the housing market was down the prices in Bahamas had finally come down also making Bahamas affordable but this may not be the case now since U.S. Federal Reserve Bank has lowered interest rates housing prices and sales could go up again. They started all this so-called credit crisis business back when they lowered interest rates down to only one percent. Soon they will have the American dollar worthless which is another reason some seek to live elsewhere. If I had of converted my funds into Euros or British pounds 4 years ago then by now I would have had over 30% appreciation on value of my funds just by moving them out of the dollar! You wouldn't condemn a currency trader or attempt to tell him which currency he had to keep his funds in now would you??

Hi Honeybear, Its mostly cloudy with a high percent chance of rain for the next few days. As for the wordy tirades, I only reserve those for when I am debating someone here in the forum posts.
