Jul 18 @ 4:57 PM Would you date someone who hasda non visual disability     frankduffey Posts: 3 I was justb an ordinary guy and In graduated from college late in life I got my degree in December 1996 from St Petersburg College in St Petersburg College, and beforeI graduated I started a computer business with a partner in 1996 and I stayed there 9m years maybe some of you are from St Petersburg, I worked with my partner at Tampa Bay Communications Inc We were at 5th Avenue North and 37th street the Grocery store was pon ythensame side of the road nest door and there was a dairy hut there and a Flower shop there. We stayed there util the lease ran out then moved to Largo I stayed with the company until I was working for free there was no business comming in hardly it was at the time when a lot of computer biusiness were going under So I left swoon after that I was working at 7 Eleven and I had a mini stroke thgey thought it was a heart attack and I was in the hospoital a week anyway they did a CAT scan and then they did a MRI and found the Tumor I was told it was on my Optic nerve and my main artery so I had to haveb the surgery it was life therting so I had the surgery and filed disibility it took from 2003 muntil april of 2007 until I recived my first paymentSo I had no idea what wpould follow I was Homeless then divorced and I am blessed to be able to rebuild my life as I have I( actually have had awnsers on this site and I told the truth I was told not to say anything but I am truthful and I am the same guy I was before just not quite the same memory wise or as quick in some areas as I used to be but as far as being a good guy OI am the same good guy I would say better because I feel like I was given a new chance at life I was told bt 2 surgons that it was not possilbe to operate but I was blessed with a very great Doctor Vale from USF in Tampa and I was luckly to have him. SO I have just now started geting out pon sites like this and trying to see if I can get a date I can not drive a long distance because I become fatqued so if I did find someone out side of my area I would have bto have them drive to me that would be the only thing, I have not dated after my divorce and I am sure I wi;ll be fine after my first date or so if I am luckey enough to get a date, I want to thank you for letting me introduce myself and I am truly greatful to jsut be alive today. Those who look at the surface are the ones who loose. You do not need to hide your disability, but rather you need to focus on the strengths and accomplishments of who you are. You have much wisdom and heart to bring to a relationship. Find balance in presenting your history as a part of who you are not as who you are. Most important it is awesome that you are 5 years out and doing so well. You can bring hope, meaning and happiness to many people with your story. Keep it up, i
