Question: Does anyone remember what boardgames they played as kids? I'm interested in hearing about your favorite ones, things you liked about the game, or even just sharing with me a good memory you had involving a boardgame.
I'm thinking about starting a collection of my favorites, and I'm trying to get ideas before I head over to eBay. I remember some classics and also the "original" boards that were used. (For example, the "Clue" board was MUCH different. The artwork, not room placement.) Or even fun variations of a game! (For example, "Clue" had MANY. We had a deluxe version with twice the rooms and a HUGE board. I also remember something like "talking Clue" and a Museum Clue?)
Even if the game was gender specific, let me know anyways. I had two sisters and I played Girl Talk and Mall Madness, so I won't be offended. (Hey, Mall Madness was fun... What can I say?)
The only thing I'm not really interested in hearing about would be ouijii board stories. No offense, but I just kinda find those stories... boring.

Let's see....
Hungry Hungry Hippos - throw some hyper kids together, some small balls on the board, and let them take out their energy with giant plastic hippos. Hungry Hungry Hippo is also the epithet for my horse.
Hi Ho Cherry-O - what was the point of this one again?
CandyLand - who doesn't like candy?
Life - vaguely remember this one.
Battleship (wow that one was boring) - sitting in front of a "board" for hours...without any hits.
Monopoly (the game that never ends!) - I was ALWAYS the horse!
Operation - Thought that the shocks were real electrocution.
Clue - Miss Scarlet was a whore.
Scrabble - the only game that words you make up with two letters...might actually exist :)

Clue:
This was one of my favorites. I always wanted to play "Clue: The Great Musuem Caper." (I believe that was the name of it.) However, "Clue: Master Detective" was AWESOME. It had more rooms, more weapons, more people. So swankledishious.
Torpedo Run:
The "board" must have been six feet long. It was huge. And it was more like real life battleship. Except, you had a little gun thing that shot discs across the board. If you aimed correctly, they would shoot under your enemy ship and hit a pin held down by a rubberband. If you did it correctly, pieces would shoot off of the ship. If you hit enough pieces, the ship was destroyed. Fun game. I think my sisters and I shot at eachother for hours.
Pig Pong:
A small rigid plastic net and four plastic colored pigs. (All neon colors.) When squeezed, the pigs shot a stream of air out of their mouths. Two small foam discs slid together to make a semi odd looking "ball" which you attempted to blow across the net. This game was so boring, I hated myself for playing.
Mouse Trap:
To this day, I have no idea how to set up this game and/or catch that stupid mouse. But it sure looked fun...
Cooties:
As a kid, I played this game for hours. Basically you rolled dice, landed on squares and "won" pieces of a bug. You ended up putting together what resembled an ant. It felt like a board game of Mr. Potato Head.
Feudal:
My mom taught me how to play this game. It was very adult like and took me awhile to master it. But, you set up a divider and placed medieval armies on your side of the board. Once you set them up with your partner, you removed the divider and had a huge battle depending on the "movements" of you men.
Stratego:
Basic "war" like game. High and low numbered armies attacking without knowing what number your opponent has until the "fight." This game has been played for hours in my house also.
I've been trying to think of others. (Incase you're wondering, I was born in 1981.) I also had lots of fun playing some handheld games my mom had. Like Simon. We also had a game called Mr. Wizard. It had a ton of game variations and looked like a maroon phone from the 70's.

My favorite board game had to be "Sorry". I used to spend summers with my grandparents and that was the only game they had. We would play it for hours at a time. That and the card game "Rummy".
