I had a huge meet up night on July 25th. I had 197 single people attend. I had and am still getting requests to have another meet up night party. About 35 so far!!! So... I am looking for ideas / suggestions of things people might think would be a good idea that a ton of people can do together or places we can all go and have fun. This must be ok with people ages 21 to 65 so please no mountain climbing! lol (I am so not good with heights!) Clubs with live bands or fun rest / bar maybe with a beer garden that can hold large numbers of people. Comedy club? (it can't be a small place because we don't want a waiting line outside) Please remember with a couple hundred people decending on thier place PLUS the reg customers the bar must be able to handle both at the same time. Over crowding is never good. Something fun might be good too. Please nothing too pricy.
Please let me know here or at {email address removed} Kathy
P.S. to the 5 toga party suggestions I already have here ummmm no! lol I think we might have a hard time finding a place that would host that one!

OK please find out if there is a "rental" fee or permit required. Is there a pavilon of some sort should rain arrive while we are there? Can we bring food to be BBQed and do they have grills there already or would we need to bring a few of our own? Is alcahole allowed in the area? Please let me know Kathy Trying the e mail address again k 9 alert at earth link dot net If you can read the above address please send me mail there if not feel free to post here or send me mail through the site.

Maybe you could help with getting younger people there. being in my 40s the "younger crowd" seems to think that only people in my age range will be there. we did get maybe 25 people in the 20s and more then that in the 30s but most were in the 40s range. I f I had a 20 something guy sending out invites to the 20 something crowd I am sure those numbers would go up HINT HINT HINT lol Let me know. I know of another place called BG fellows that has a DJ and a pretty big dance floor. Let me know, Kathy

Just a thought ... some people may not feel entirely safe or comfortable in a Forest Preserve environment. :) I mean like , if getting lots of people to go is a high priority .

gfseeker, There are people who are the outdoorsy types who really like that sort of thing. I am guessing you not one of them. I know of a group on another singles site that have regular camp out events and they are a big hit!! Lots of people attend it every time.
I have had a few of these singles events now and always produce HIGH numbers of single people who show up to them. My last one had 197 single people attend. I had a personal friend Linsey Alexander for the entertainment that night also. He is an internationally traveled singer and song writer and no way could that bar have been able to afford a group like that but he did a favor for me and I was grateful. I owed him dinner! lol
Please help try to keep this thread upbeat and positive. Please don't put an idea down unless you are willing to post a new suggestion. Or better yet just post your suggestion. Never know it just might be the thing that gets done! If you know of a local club or bar or? that can handle the crowd that comes in and it has either a live band or DJ and a cover charge of $10 or less (free of course is better) and plenty of parking (again free parking is better) Please post the idea here. Hope to hear some more sugestions soon!!! Kathy
