Christmas for the single person.

Christmas is fast approaching and everyone is out shopping, trying to find the perfect gift for that someone special. But what if there is no one special? Oh, sure, you have family members, kids, and co-workers you can buy for, but sometimes the void of having the enthusiasm of going out and searching for a romantic, humorous, or heart felt gift is sad. I, myself, miss it. I enjoy making other people happy, especially someone I love very much, and this year seems a little empty, in a way. But like me, you shouldn't get depressed or discouraged because of this. Put up that tree. Decorate that house or apartment. Even bake some cookies for Santa Claus. Because you never know what might happen. And always remember what Christmas is all about. Thats the important thing.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Moondog. Alone is what we make of it...the choice is ours. I myself decorate to suit my fancy then drive around and enjoy everyone else's. I curtailed the gift giving quite some time ago...and I'm not a bah-humbug. Now I enjoy the Christmas spirit...the reason for the season..friends and family, the music and hopefully snow (not much please!) Wish I had someone special but alas it's not to be so I enjoy what I do have...and hope you do to. Christmas hugs to you.

Patches

You want the moon? I'll just throw a lasso around it and pull it down for you. How about that? I'll give you the moon.

Thanks, MD for your very heartfelt words. There are so many Christmas celebrations in town today, I wanted to attend a couple but my son and granddaughter are with their dads this weekend , the friends I called are either working or sick....I was beginning to feel a little bit alone, then I read your post and, once again, was reminded I am NOT the only single person in this world! I am going to get in the shower, put on my mittens, and go out and enjoy the celebrations with everyone else

Thank you

I don't see anyone mentioning the real reason of Christmas which is Christ.

At the end of my original post, I said, "And always remember what Christmas is all about. Thats the important thing." I'm sorry if I was not more specific, but I thought maybe everyone would get it?
