Indiana owns March
Does anybody out there in cyberland know where basketball was invented? No doubt, it's Indiana. I'm not sure about the rest of the country but if you are a basketball lover and you live in Indiana, it's almost Heaven. A few years ago, high school basketball in Indiana changed. I really miss the old days when David had a chance to play Goliath. If you have ever seen the movie 'Hoosiers', you know what I mean. Indiana was unique because there was no 'class' basketball. You know...when the small schools competed with the big guys on the same court and sometimes....the small school beats the big school and become famous. Then...a few choice people came along and had to ruin it all because when the small school could not beat the big school every time...it was boo hooo hooo hooo....waaahhhh....my poor little Tommy is not being treated fair. The few cried loud enough and now, high school basketball is ruined in Indiana. The NCAA Tournament going on now is similar to what Indiana High school basketball used to be. The small schools get to play with the big guys and is able to prove that the size of the school doesn't matter...it's what's in the heart. Although I am an Indiana University Basketball fan, I do find myself rooting for the small schools. It's a wonderful reminder of how Indiana High School basketball used to be. Next week, the Final Four is being played here in Indianapolis. The NCAA chooses Indiana often to host the Final Four...Indiana has the best Basketball fans in the world. From tip off to the last bucket of the final game...you will find goosebumps on me. You can feel the energy in the air. I rank that energy up there with the feeling you get when you are standing on the fourth turn at the Indy Motor Speedway and you hear those words...."Gentleman, Start Your Engines!!!!!", or when Rudy sacks the QB and gets carried off the field. I'm not the biggest sports nut....but when David meets up with Goliath, Well, it's obvious where my heart is.
