Impossible to say, it's all down to the individuals involved.

I don't think insecurity has much to do with if you are male or female.. PEOPLE have insecurities due to situations in life, upbringing, others they are surrounded by in some cases.....

i took a class several years ago. where it was put out that women have "low self esteem" and only men are insecure.
i didn't agree with it but it was the doctrine of the class. they also put out that it was the man's fault that women had low self esteem. they never addressed the source of men's insecurity.
it all kind of made me say, HUH?

with respect to the 1st and 3rd questions, I buy china's point but taking a close rational look, i mean anatomically, well as much as I understand and sympathise A LOT, women's bodies are more than insecure than men's when it comes to insecurity as in "not safe". A simple example, the shape, size and the position of a woman's breast, the vagina, the body of an expectant mom especially during sex etc. A woman's body's generally fluffy and fragile.
ok insecurity as in "lack of confidence", my answer's still yes. women have to acknowledge that their sense of control over their own sexual thoughts, enjoyment and expression is a fundamental part of the impasse. Women, well some, feel men are trying to completely control all sex by setting themselves up as the only provider and they feel they have or will lose all control of sex life with a man completely in the driver's seat. women think and act this way cuz they're feeling jealous, hurt and betrayed and sometimes "ugly" both internally and externally.
I think the only way to soothe the essential ache of insecurity is by giving and receiving LOVE. It's only when we start to give up on love in a relationship that we face insecurity and seek power....just a thought

no, and yes. how secure the person, male or female, is up to their nature, and their beliefs and what they have been told all their life. if a "large" person has been told all their life that they are ugly, then they are gonna believe it and be insecure about it. that is only an example, but it is generally what is the profile for insecurity.

I am not insecure about my body, or being rejected................would be nice though if going to be rejected............be honest about it and why..............
relationships.............well who isnt.............
i say if you want a friend with benefits..............say so.............let them decide if they want to be or not...............
or they tell you they love you...............is that because they think you want to hear it...............i dont and say so................dont say it unless you really mean it.............and if you do.............dont have friends with benefits...............
funny really...........had a friend who is good at reading 'energy' tell me that my heart is 'closed'..............
i say my heart is open..............but dont trust enough to let anyone in................my opinion of course

Perhaps generalized, women might be more insecure about their bodies etc due to unrealistic expections from print and visual media. However, most of the women I know couldn't give a damn about being insecure about such things. They are too busy taking care of kids, running the house, and holding down a job. Most of them would tell you, "If a man doesn't like me, too bad. Means I get a full nights sleep."
Men know that women are the workhorses of society. They need us more than we need them. If you check historical context, this realization becomes subjigation of females ie wearing of occlusive clothing, and ridiculous rules about females' behaviour.

I think the only way to soothe the essential ache of insecurity is by giving and receiving LOVE. It's only when we start to give up on love in a relationship that we face insecurity and seek power....just a thought I wish that were true... but I continue to read articles that refer to "Whoever cares the least in an event, has all of the power"
whether it is a sales transaction, or a relationship... it is the truth

I'm very secure in my career choice, very capable in living on my own and paying my own way. Only insecurity I have is in the male/female relationshop. Maybe because most of my relationships have been very short. However I'm in a relationship now and have been very upfront and told my b/f about my insecurity and he told me not to worry about it, he's in this for the long haul. Nice to know that! Not sure how long the "haul" will be, but I'm in it too.

[B] Not really!!!! I guess it depends on the person. Some guys get butterflies in their tummies, when meeting a good looking lady for the first time, and they are worried about,am i good looking enough for her, too big?,too short!!!? Not dressed nice enough?Do't have a fancy enough car,or fat bankroll. A woman, worrys about,if her makeup is too heavy, her clothes are not right. She is not sexy enough, too old,or not fast enough.I think, that both Sexes got there hangups.

Well, I don't think all guys worry about their bankroll, honestly! I think guys want love as much as women. Insecurity is on both sides...
