I don't get how many men in these sites who are into their 40s and 50s can put that they're looking for females 18- to whatever. For example, a man who is 48 will put 18-50 as the age range of women he wants to date. There is so many like that. It makes me sick to think a man who is near retirement would date someone barely out of puberty. Which leads me to wonder if they are closet phedophiles.
I'm serious guys..get with the program of reality here. Be realistic. I for one at 28 would and will not date anyone older than 10 yrs. Just for the reason of wanting to grow old WITH them NOT after them. Life will be lonely if I have to visit him in the senior citizens home I think.
When I see a man's profile with those ridiculous expectations in the ages, I think that he is just out for booty and nothing more and is not worth the click and type. Sheesh! Some men are just plain sick...and women too so don't chew me out just yet. But it's more common in men than it is for women to be cradle robbers. I speak from experience in the ages of men who have messaged me in the short time I've had my profile here.
That's my beef and I'm stickin' to it. or not!

20 years older would be friends of my father's and 20 years younger would be friends of my son's.....nope not going there!! I will admit though, that I would (and have) date someone way younger than me before I'd date someone way older than me!!!

I hear what you are saying!!!!And sometimes their age range is 5 to 10 years younger than they are. I once read a profile that said, DO NOT write to me if you are over 35, I will not respond....he was 50!
Since I have been on the persoanals, I have found that men my age want to date the 30 year olds and the 30 somethings email me. What's up with that?

u got me. maybe they think they can "recapture" their youth or prove their "virility" (hmph. my dog had puppies n it doesn't make him a "man"). then there's my other thread about women having babies after 50. whatever! anyway, i couldn't tell u.
i've read that younger men and older women r more sexually suited (i sure hope there's more than that). i havent read about younger women and older men aside from sugar daddy n him wanting 2 try out the viagra. seriously, i read where one guy wanted to have a better set of children than his first (the oldest set didn't talk 2 him anymore).
i just dont know what 2 else 2 say but eek n yipe!

Actually with the exception of High School I've always dated women that were much younger than I am with only one exception. The largest difference was 21 years.
My parents have 23 years between them, they raised 5 kids and are both retired. My dad's health is exceptional and there is no reason to believe he won't live past his nineties. Right now he looks like he is in his sixties and is actually 87. He and my mom are a great match. My dad is certainly no closet pedophile.
From my own experiences it always seemed that most women my own age have absolutely no interest in the more physically demanding lifestyle I maintain. What can I say, I am an adrenaline junkie and I want to spend my time with a woman that has the same interest in doing these types of things. I'm certainly not a pedophile, sick, only interested in sex or anything else that you have suggested.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions and preferences as long as they don't break the law.

It does bother me when men will only consider women that are 20 years beneath them in age, however, I was married to a man 20 years older than me for 12 years, and never noticed the age difference. Noticed alot of other things, but never the age difference......lol!

I think everyone has there preferences and that there entitled to that. I personally am young and perfer guys much older then me. I do not see the problem with it. If both people are happy and feel they have things in common then more power to them! To each is there own. :)

It all depends. 20 years is too much for me but 10 or 15 years is OK. My dads wife is only a few years older than me and they just celebrated thier 20th anniversery.
I want to have a baby and there just aren't a whole lot of 40+ women who are interested in taking that kind of risk.

Wow ok varied responses. I like that. Thanks peeps. And Summersquall...didn't mean to offend and no I wasn't referring to you when I wrote those things, my apologies if I hit a nerve.
I guess it's just that I know a woman in my parent's crowd who has a hubby in an old age home who she visits to have company with him...he's 84 and she's 63. I'm sorry if I offended and stereotyped OLD men. LMAO.
I guess I'm just frustrated when the men I prefer don't notice me but the 'old' men...(sorry Summer if I offend again...hehe...)are interested. I'm close to my parents and especially my father so I find it difficult to think of having a relationship with a man his age, thats all. So sue me. LOL.
I think I'd probably think of an older guy like a father and refuse to have any intimacy with him. Talk about trauma. lol.
Anyway, thanks again peeps...to each their own yes for sure like someone said. Whatever floats your boat, just don't sink mine!
Peace all!

I wasn't offended and if my post gave you that impression I apologize.
I would agree though, that it is the motives behind wanting the age difference that should be the compelling factor.

When I was 29 years old I ended up with a 19 year old girlfriend much to my suprise. We had met on several previous occasions and I brushed her off because I didn't want a teenager.
What finally changed my mind was when I got to know her better and recognized her intelligence and suprising maturity.
I dreaded meeting her parents and they weren't thrilled at first but they warmed up to me when they got to know me. They figured out that I had real feelings for thier daughter and ended up being pretty happy about it. They were also quite happy that I didn't interfere with her college and even encouraged her to do well.

I usually date women that are much younger than me, probably because I live in a university area. However, lately, even though they like me, it's been getting tougher, because I keep getting older, and they don't.
However, these sights make me feel like a CREEPY STALKER, regardless of age. I rarely contact anybody, and wouldn't contact anybody 20 years younger than me on here for fear that I would be labled as a CREEPY STALKER.
However, I will strike up conversation at the coffee shop, bar, or various activity club meetings, or have no problem asking for a dance.

From your profile

I agree with your statement here though ^
Over 20 (+ -) years is really pushing the envelope IMHO

Sheesh, life is tough..in my next life I think I'll be a cloud...one with a silver lining.

For some it's the "trolling effect". If one indicates they are seeking someone
18-99 that opens up a wide range of possibilities. That compares with placing a lure on your line and trolling Lake of The Woods in Ontario Canada.....by the way that location offers great fishing.
