24 years ago when I was 18 and he was 21. I loved him then, still love him now and going home to Florida to my hometown in two weeks to be back home where he is. Everything happens for a reason, Im going home to find that reason. Dont know if I dont try.

Well that's a depressing question.
It's been too long.

Eeek...35 years ago. The one and only time I think. I was 20 when I married and had no clue what it could be like.

I kind of feel like in my world, I have had that kind of transformative love space many times.
I don't look at it as 'falling in love'. I experience it more like making room for someone in my life in such a way, that my world can encompass theirs. I let go looking for a 'thing' that lives in my head in images and ideals, and find enough space such that the person in front of me...I can see them, get my head around them, without measure.
In that way, my world is constantly full of that kind of love. Yesterday afternoon, in the office of a friend, we sat there in this space of thunder in which we both knew...the world was aweing as it was. I didn't need anything from her...but we made space, and were swept away.
For me, I don't sense there is a falling in love for me as much as always clearing debris away to touch the capacity to love another without measure. And that happens with great regularity.
Several of the women I have been involved with have said they didn't feel I loved them. When asked why, they said they felt I loved everyone.
Now personally, I would have thought that would have included them???

True Love It is true. It can really happen. I never thought I would find it, but I did. Now that I have found it, I can’t even begin to scratch the surface of it with mere words to describe to you what it is. All I can say is that it is powerful, it is filling, it is heaven. What falls away are all the concepts of individuality, where “I will only be this way,” and “She has to be what I want”. Those things no longer seem to matter. I can also tell you that no matter how much you love someone else, if the feelings are not unconditional in both directions, it isn’t the same. It doesn’t matter who gets up and does what, it doesn’t matter what other ups and downs the world has to toss in your path. Those things don’t really get in, and nothing breaks the bond. It doesn’t make either of the True Lovers any better or worse toward anyone else in the world. In fact, they can be sometimes downright annoying as a couple to the observer. [ ] I have considered in the past that two people should not be together unless they absolutely couldn’t have it any other way. But I never really knew what that meant until I found myself there. ~guitarish 2004
