I used to work with a guy who met his wife online. He lived in Michigan and she lived in Texas. After about 5 years of the LDR they got sick of it, she moved here and they got married.
You might want to address the question to Kattsmeow

Aren't empath and distressedjester engaged? What about the couple who married in Vegas? Dumb question, now that I think about it. I would imagine there would be more than one in Las Vegas...duh.
Where are katt and Haban? Did Lenee meet his wife-to-be online? I'm thinking they met elsewhere.
I guess the thing to note is, it DOES happen. The marriages may be few and far between, but isn't that the way it is, even if we were to meet someone outside of the internet? The married couples I know, who met online, seem very happy too, Kisses. Have you checked out our "Get Togethers" forum? Two of our married couples will be at one we have planned for Tahoe. Unfortunately, you missed out on that one, but there will be many more.

I know 3 women (2 in S. FL and one in GA) who met their husbands online, two on paying dating sites and the other in a music chatroom (he lived in Canada and moved here last year and they got married like a week later. I also have an online friend in CA who's living with someone she met online. All are women who had been previously married and are in my age range.

The point I wanted to make is that even being just online friends for 3 or 4 years, the "ultimate shazaaaaam" CAN happen!

I was an internet bride. But, just like meeting anywhere else, sometimes things happen which are way beyond our control......... It can work online though, just requires honesty and communication (okay, every relationship requires honesty and communication)

Gracie,
I had forgotten to mention you too. That's right!!! See? There are some wonderful success stories.
I honestly believe we have to open ourselves up to the possibilities. I know many of us SAY we want a lasting, LTR, but then we put up thick barriers. We will only let someone in so far, and then we place a wall between ourselves and the one we care about. We sabotage something that could be thrilling.
