I have to disagree.
I find men in their 40s incredibly sexy. Intelligent, sophisticated, confident and very controlled. There's definitely something very appealing about a man who's been around the block and doesn't need a road map.

I think Sara meant that the good ones are mostly taken (and kept!)...but I keep hoping to find a good fit anyway!

Ah......yes, that does put a different spin on things.
In terms of numbers, there's some merit to that statement. In terms of quality, though, would I be repeating myself if I said I adore men in their 40s?

Speaking of seasons...I've noticed something of a trend, both personally and through observance. Fall is a time for Romance. I think the opportunities will be increasing over the next several months.
Maybe it's because of the approaching Holidays and nobody wants to be alone for the Holidays or maybe it's the end of summer. The end of a time when (I think) we'd rather be single and free to do what we want --- when we want...that prompts people to want to settle down. Maybe it's instinctual.
I'm not sure of other areas in the country, but here in the North, you can feel the changing seasons...not the physical temperature change, but more of a tranquil or content feeling....but I guess we'll see

It's not going to hurt you to keep looking. You may think all the good ones are taken right now, but don't feel discouraged; there's someone out there. You just got to keep on picking! Dig through those clearence racks!

i am of the opinion that there are a few good folks on both sides of the fence in this game. we just don't want to make the same mistake again. if someone has been single for over a year its gonna be hard to get a rope on um much less a bridle!

If I'm a Red Tag Special, so be it. Hey, women LOVE shopping for sales, don't they?

Middle aged dating is like an end of season clearance sale. You may find something that fits, but it is slim pickins. Trust me when I say this....men feel the same way.
It's like shopping at a Good Will store that has Neiman Marcus prices.
It's like a 1995 Hyundai saying it's worth the price of a 2007 Ferrari.

I think the secret is all in the attitude you take into dating. Or, shopping for that matter.
I expect to find good men out there, in my age range. And I do. Both online and just out doing whatever.
When I go shopping, I expect to find what I'm looking for, and I generally do.
Negative expectations lead to negative results. I feel a movie quote coming on.....
"Too many negative waves, man...." Jeff Spicoli, Fast Times at Ridgemont High

"Too many negative waves, man...." MJ, actually, that was Donald Sutherland's line in "Kellys Heroes" first.

Mo, really? I can hear Donald Sutherland saying that, especially in his 1970s era hippie voice. Guess I'll have to add that movie to my Netflix list.

I'm surprised I haven't seen it already. I thought I'd seen all of Clint Eastwood's movies.
Nothing wrong with a good war movie. I just cover my eyes when the body parts start flying.
MJ - who will now be hearing "Are you feeling lucky, punk?" in her head all day long.
