Can a casual relationship develop into something more? If so, how many of you have experienced it and how long did it take? I'm real interested in your stories on your casual relationships developing into something more and if it was worth the wait. How did it become more serious? What's your secret??

Personally, I haven't had any casual relationships, nor do I know anyone who has had a casual relationship develop into something more; especially if sex is involved. I've grown to learn that if you do relationship things without the relationship then the other person tends not to focus on it. It's kind of like, "Why buy the cow when you can get the horse for free." They usually end up getting serious with someone who's going to hold out for them to show signs of seriousness.
Bottom line if they wanted to be serious with you then it would have started out that way. I've had friendships develop into something serious but casual relationships are casual for a reason and if you want something more serious then it's best to start looking somewhere else for it.

Explain what you mean about a "casual" relationship.

No, a casual relationship can never EVER develop into something more serious. One can wait til doomsday hoping, wishing, dreaming for that person to be somebody they aren't, but it'll never NEVER happen. Period. Plain and simple. The only thing to do is to accept reality and put that person out of ones mind and move on with life.
I think everyone here will probably say the same thing...specifically speaking.
Capische?
(PS nice new pic, btw)

There are friendships. There are relationships. I guess I am clueless what a "casual relationship" is.

All of my relationships are casual. I prefer them that way.
No expectations. No demands. No whining "you're not paying enough attention to me!" And if a guy starts acting that way, I stop going out with him.
I wouldn't and don't expect a serious relationship out of any of the men I know. In fact, that's why I like them. We understand each other. They know I'm not sitting at home by the phone waiting for them to call and I'm not giving them grief because they don't call. It works beautifully. Probably not for everyone, but it does for me.

For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free," Here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage, why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire Pig, Just to get a little sausage.
