Are there some jobs that turn you off so much that you won't date people who do them?
For me, it's casino workers, dealers and cocktail servers in particular. The job gives them a real hard cynical edge, which is not easy to get past. A woman I work with had a funeral director ask her out, and she thought it was so creepy she wouldn't even talk to him. How about you?

I probably wouldn't date a porn actor or a prostitute. That's all I can think of at the moment.

There's not a "profession" I won't date but there are "hobbies" I won't date. Those hobbies include any sports obsession whatsoever, be it participating or watching. There's more to life guys!

Well if you've ever paid for a funeral you would call undertakers and grave diggers, grave robbers.

An Undertaker Oh, you mean an ACTUAL Undertaker. Well, I might not date one of them either but they're supposed to be very interesting people, so I might.
I don't think I would want to date a garbage man or a guy who works in the sewer, or with septic systems.

I won't date a copper (because i've had too many bad experiences), or someone who is in the armed forces (because they need to travel too much plus I would worry about them too much if they went into combat). Plus anyone who is active in the porn industry or is a prostitute (I don't share well). Everyone else is fine, I think.

It's not about the money. I just don't understand why someone would want to be a garbage man.

Somebody has to do it and it is about the money if they have a family to raise.
Back in 1985 I was a garbage man making a little more than $9 an hour. I supported my girlfriend and her baby on that money. Looking back I almost wish I was healthy enough to do it still. I jogged several miles 6 days a week chasing that stinkin truck.

That's nice for some people, but I don't have to date someone if I am not particularly attracted to what they do.

Good Point Sparks....
Bartenders and bar waitress. True about the cynical edge. Comes from the crude unwelcome advances of drunk morons. And the daily discussions of and with life at it's worst.
I never date dancers again. Fun when your younger, has it's advantages, but never again.
Cops, has it's advantages, but will never do Law Enforcement again.
And I guess anyone in the porn or freak-show industry.
....not crazy about dating the mortician lady or garbage lady. Do they have a garbage lady? Perhaps if she was a really HOT garbage lady and looked good in her skin tight garbage jump-suit....hummmmmm

Someone with a real job...the 9-5 "routine" kind. I'd need someone with flexibility and TIME.
OK, well maybe to "date", IF I were to date. But I wouldn't care to be in a fulltime relationship with someone tied to a regular job anymore...just cuz I'm old and been there, done that -- and retired from it so I could spend the rest of my days playing.

I don't think I'd ever date a TV personality again.
I have dated a funeral director before. He was absolutely hysterical. He upped and fell in love with another woman he was dating. Dammit. If he ever gets divorced, I've got dibbs.
Other than that, I don't think I have any particular prejudices about employment. I'm more concerned that it's legal and he's self-supporting. I've never met anyone who was employed in anything that might give me pause, though. I might have to eat my words.
