How many of you have asked a girl "Where do you stand?"even if you don't intend on having a relationship with her?Why do men ask such a question if they are not really that interested?Please help me understand this!!!

I'd really like to help you understand, but I don't understand the question. What do you mean by ask the girl "Where do you stand?" Stand on what? Politics, religion, sex, having kids? I'm not sure what you're talking about.

i have rarely asked a gal where she stands! i honestly beleive they are all standing way way out in left field with you!  well Di and sunbabe are exceptions! but, there are always exceptions!

I think you really need to step back and examine what you are saying. I see many of your post's, they all tell me the same thing.

You really have to assume men are not interested until they show you they are. So if a man asks you a question, that means nothing more than he is asking you a question. There is no hidden meaning, no secret code, and we're not screwed up just because we make polite conversation.

... Are you sure that was the question? ... If I don't intend on having a relationship, I normally ask them to stand anyplace, but close to me.

Ok,let's clear this up!! it simply means that after you have chased someone you are not truly interested in for many months or years and all though you don't want a RELATIONSHIP with this person,why would you care to know WHERE YOU STAND-meaning where do you fit into this person's life.Why would any man follow a woman down a street,come to her house pounding on her door and go WAY OUT OF HIS WAY to visit a woman at her job if he wasn't truly interested?Could that person just be a little bit of a coward to admit his true feelings,or just simply a pathetic wacko that likes to toy with women??? I hope this answers what THE ORIGINAL QUESTION MEANS!!!!!

thanks for the clarification, i think this is funny, and i know it reflects on me, but women aren't usually around long enough to formulate a question like that. don't know that i'd want to know......yakno that old saying about not asking questions you already know the answers too.

This man has chased ME for nearly 2 years.I haven't chased him.And after pounding on my door and after we chat for a while and he tells me that he don't want a relationship,he asks me where he stands and for me to be straight with him.HE HAS CHASED ME AND LEAD ME ON FOR NEARLY 2 YEARS!!! And yes,coming to the store I work at is seriously out of his way!! But I'm just imaging things!Yeah Right!!
