Posts: 4 This might be a useful thread as I mean for it to be a place where members can discuss what they feel is necessary to having a successful future together.

I am including attributes necessary to a continuing relationship with someone you care for. I mention first honesty and openness then the willingness to talk to each other and not at each other. There are no White Knights or Princesses in the world just people so we all have our Lumps, Bumps and Quirks which leads me to acceptance of the other for who they are. We all have to look at our individual LBQs and see if some of them might be detrimental to any long term relationship. You can't fix them all but some of them can be and others if you are aware of them can be lessened.

Money is always a thorny subject but if you want to stay together it must be addressed so that you can plan where you as a couple want to go and also take into consideration that at some time in the future retirement will come. This requires that you agree to a plan to cover not only retirement but any unforeseen things that could pop up. Financial planning is a necessity these days and you have to be able to agree on a plan and a goal that will still allow you to enjoy your life together. You might have to settle for less than you had hoped for or make a change to your current plan and you had better be willing to talk about it.

OK!....I've put in my two cents worth and now I turn this thread over to you and all future members in the hopes that you will find happiness with that someone special to hopefully
spend the rest of your life together with.
