this may sound like fiction but this is very true on several occasions had from texas ok ; 3 dates fly up into canada and stay a month ; very true ok ; threw the net and maybe but one or 2 phone calls before this we got along greatly ; no problems at all e are still in contact and more maakeing contact north carolinia woman seam very romantic and they phone me on a reguliar basis ; i dont want to sound like a braggard ; iam just stateing fact ;i cannot go into details forum rules i should know i have my own forum out there ; anyway if indeed there some southern girls in this gruop maybe enlighten me a bit on southern charm ; must be true ? thanks its important    [B]

Hmm,any normal person can`t just go of to Canada or anywhere else for a month.Most people have some sort of responsibilities in their lifes unless they don`t have a life and hope for prince charming to come along to rescue them.You are not prince charming or it wouldn`t have been 3 different dates .You just attract the same kind of needy females or something....who knows.It`s early and that all i can come up with right now.

Each part of the world has a differant type of life fast slow etc, have found that the southerners are more laid back,
I have a life and have no responsilbilites, being retired is great

And as far as the southern women are concerned,there has always been something magic about the southern belle.

Yep-jobs and kids, homes and bills.
I am romantic, and know many midwest men and women that are also.
As far as southern-I have met many, and it seems a pretty even split of romantic and indifferent. I think the drawl is just so cute!

Interesting post. Where do I start?
I am from the northern part of the US. When I arrived in the south I too had certain affinities for those belles. But it has been my experience that women are women. No matter where they come from and no matter where they live. It is also my opinion that it's all a matter of what you are used to. Being from the north I wasnt used to women with a southern drawl and a slightly different attitude only because of demographics. This was very appealing to me. After becoming used to women in the south I now realize that she is like her northern counterpart. Just a woman. In my opinion what you are experiencing is a desire for something different. I was there once myself. I later realized the women in the south had no more legs, arms, ears, than those in the north. And beleive it or not, their eyes and nose are in the same place as those women in the north. Who would have thought?
Listen, I think all women are beautiful. From the loud mouth trouble makers to the shy and timid. A beauty for who she is, what she is, and what she represents is a testament all it's own. Women are women. Beleive it or not it's just that simple.

I think a woman is romantic from being romantic, not necessarily where they are from, or how they sound per se. Though I do find some UK 'drawls' romantic, or perhaps Aussie. I relate Canadian accent with more Minnesota or upper peninsula areas of Michigan. So I'm a little more used to it (though I don't live that far north), so I don't find it as alluring perhaps.
I'm from the midwest, and when asked of my east coast counterparts, what does my accent sound like, I was told, I don't have one. Alas... I lack a 'sexy/romantic' accent. Darn this understandable linguistic aptitude nonsense...
PS - I agree with a majority of Silvers post.
