I work with men from Europe, South America, and Asia. I am in a relaitonship with someone from the UK. All this over the past year.
I've become quite spoiled with their manners. Opening car doors and store doors for me; waiting for me to get on/off the elevator first. Carrying things in stores for me. Dropping me off by the door and picking me up in bad weather.
I've grown to like it...and I don't want to go back. :)

Chivalry in the US is not all dead! (it just isn't as alive and kickin as when our parents anf grandparents grew up. They had other things to worry about though...)
I hope you find the man that will continue your dream!

Those are things that any gentleman should do. Maybe you should add old fashioned southern males to that list. Then again, we do have our redneck population, so you may need to be a bit selective down south.

Hey! I even did one of those Dukes o Hazzard things and flew across the hood of the car to get to the door before she did. Course I was a young buck at the time.

I think there are some people who just prefer relationships with foreigners.
I personally know several men who say they will never date an American woman. They only date foreign women.
My boss just got engaged to a Portuguese woman. I've worked with him for 10 years. When I first met him he was dating an American woman, but after they broke up he met an Asian girl and since then has dated only foreign women.
We've had a number of discussions as to why he prefers that, but I'll leave it at that because the reasons might offend someone. Obviously it's a matter of taste anyway.

You know what Diamond? I have an older cousin that lives out west and when he came back to his fathers funeral he brought his new, young Russian bride along. We all thought he might have been AC/DC because he went so long without a gal.She was worth his trip to the USSR to marry her and they are still together 7 years later.

Yes...I think I mentioned in another thread that a best friend that I grew up with married a Polish girl about 20 or 25 years ago and they are still happily married.
When they met she didn't even speak English! As I said before, if you saw what she looked like then, you wouldn't have cared about THAT little detail either!
I was best man at his wedding and dated his wife's sister for a time after that. (She was also a "who cares that she doesn't speak English type" )

Interesting that I have always heard American men are substantially more courteous and considerate with women than most International men. But I guess there are always variations to every rule.
As for Polish women, I dated one extensively for a couple of years, who was truly one of the sweetest people on earth, as well as very striking in appearance. A ballet dancer, she was recruited by the Rockettes. She eventually married a very fortunate fellow. I never met the gentleman, but I hope he knew what he had there.

If you will just sit somewhere like in a mall and observe people for an hour or so you will notice that this trend seems to be much more with the younger generation. It's so sad what has happened with these younger people. They do not seem to have much respect for anyone or even themselves. I know there are exceptions to every rule, but as a general rule the younger guys will sling a door open and walk right in...in front of the girl he is with. I see this happening all the time. I know there are some really great kids out there, but it's a "dying breed" so to speak from what I have observed. I have always opened doors for women, doesn't matter who they are or if I know them or not. I suppose I'm from the old school but I'm glad that I am.
