Good thread!!
I'll have one son with me, one in NYC and one in Chicago. I was gonna throw a Festivus party, but then it looked as though a bunch of us were going to be working thru the holiday anyway so that got cancelled. Just as well, I'm a pretty bunt unit after the last week at work.
Wawa - hope your date's a great success!

spending it with my mom, Papa B, my niece Bev and my twin sisters son, John.. Kay can't make it in for the holidays.. again.. stuck in Iowa.. anyone else that wants to join in is welcome.. Lord knows I am cooking for an army. Altho my niece isn't even a size one, that child can eat three times as much as I.. undoubtedly, she will put a hurting on that turkey...

Personally, I don't believe any of us are every truly alone. Nor do I believe that any day is any more of a holiday ("holy day") than any other one.
If I want to spend time by my Self, I do. If not, I don't.
I honestly don't worry about what the rest of the world thinks. Every day can manifest the real spirit of Christmas if you really want to make it so.

I'm going to my parents house this year but this may be the worst Christmas ever if they don't get things worked out.

I have spent Thanksgiving alone.. many times.. doesn't bother me.. I see my parents almost everyday.. so not seeing them for a holiday would not bother me.. I enjoy my quiet time.

I will be with my mom, brothers, sisters-in-law, and nieces/nephew on Xmas Day. But yes, the rest of the time I will be alone...like now. And, right now, I've never felt so alone. Must be the holidays....

Nope. But it will be messy-boys have girlfriends, and their Dad to see. Usually it's church Christmas Eve, then my parents. But this year may be sticking closer to home. Christmas morning kids should all be here for Santa, then dinner at Mom's. Never alone-sometimes lonely!

Yes, alone as usual, though i may join a couple of friends for Christmas dinner if we can find a restaurant open. But I'm used to it - I've been alone for a long time, no kids other than my horses, and my only family is 1500 miles away. But we'll visit on the phone, which is almost as nice as being with them.
heck, I even spent holidays alone when I was married (briefly). My husband didn't understand that I wasn't about to travel over Christmas, expecting someone else to take care of my horses. So he drove 'home' to visit his mother by himself. Did I say 'ex'? Yeah.. he moved back 'home' permanently.

Yes, it will just be me and my cat Bruno, yet again. Oh well, at least there is football to watch.
