Do you think certain sites like Match attract a certain kind of person?

I can only say that they don't attract me, especially eHarmony, Jewish Singles, Christian Singles or Kinky Singles.
PS Are you going to actually participate in this discussion this time?

I had joined Match about a month ago. I have found many of the womens' profiles to be the same. They want the same things.I'm sure many of them will never find that lasting relationship they claim to want. They don't seem to have learned anything from their past. They still want the rich guy. The guy who can give them the material things they appear to need.He must also be goodlooking and now for the first time a "good guy" maybe? They don't usually list traits.Or if they do? It's not high on their wants. My ad starts with I'm seeking a woman who is looking for a relationship and knows it's more than about events and traveling.I do mention that I go to events and am open to traveling.I've written to a number of women but find most aren't interested. It's ok if they don't like my personality and or looks.I write to women who are younger than myself but they state they are open to men my age.The events/travel are most important to them.
I had gotten the impression that E-Harmony from their ads was for people who wanted to get married? But since meeting a woman member.I have found out there are ads from guys who list how often they need sex and other things that don't fit E-Harmony's image.

I find very few profiles interesting -- ones that just makes a list of wants/needs are boooooring. I'm only interested in someone who's totally unique and usually I find out who that is via the forum discussions.
One of these days, if I EVER decide to date or meet somebody for other than "friendship", it just may be that handsome buff Adonis with a yacht, a healthy trust and/or retirement fund, ready to sail the Seven Seas...or not.

And Recall...you're making an assumption about the women. You say "they STILL want the rich guy". Perhaps they didn't have the rich guy the first time around? Just a thought.

I'm still on Match but don't look there that often...the funniest thing was when I looked in my email and found one from a guy I work with...
And yes, we definitely recognized each others' pictures!

The one I usually get the most responses from is Yahoo personals. I figure it's time for a break though, when I'm being asked out by an apparently attractive, intelligent guy who's about my age....and I'd rather stay home and clean.

I found eharmony's personality profile helpful but their matching system to suck. I would never get many matches unless I made myself available to relocate anywhere! Sheesh! And then most never responded to the process. Match and all the others seem to have a lot of profiles but not many that are truly active. At least you are not going broke on Matchdoctor.
I have had the most luck on Yahoo but haven't done it for a long time.

I'm sorry-I can't leave out matchdoctor. I tried 2 other sites and was bored almost immediately.

^^^^^^^^^ What she said, at least with the forums. I'd created a profile here and totally forgotten about it - I have no idea how long I'd been subscribed here, when I got an email and took a look. He was much too far away, but I started poking around and found the forums...that was a year ago November, and I'm officially addicted.

I rate them as first class ripoffs. Most are designed to extract as much money as possible from members.
