Have you ever been deep in conversation or thought about religion, politics, world hunger, world peace, inner peace, inner turmoil or whatever and suddenly your companion is making physical moves on you...
Or you are surfing the net, reading news, opinion, watching videos of calamity, conspiracy and controversy and you get an email that is hot and steamy, erotic...
...Are you one to move swiftly from engagement of one sort to engagement of another. Can you shift gears smoothly and swiftly?

I can usually switch from one position to another. Versatility is a good thing.

You either need a new partner or your intelligence is a major turn-on. Intelligence is a major turn on for me. But to answer the question, yes, I do have a hard time shifting gears. I tend to want to finish whatever I'm doing before I go off into something else.

Oh absolutely. Multitasking is so very important in today's world where time is such a precious commodity.
Have you ever been deep in conversation or thought about religion, politics, world hunger, world peace, inner peace, inner turmoil This has in fact occurred a few times when instead of discussing any of the above issue she thought a foreign language was being spoken (she had no clue of the topic at hand) Must have been a true indication she was bored or ignorant to the subject?
If one is able to continue a conversation with a lip lock on your love muscle or for women a tongue lashing of your love button then your Multitasking skills have be precisely honed.

Exactly!! Same thing for either gender...or they might understand perfectly, but have their own agenda regardless of the discussion!
I'd better be used to multitasking, I'm a woman who raised her kids as a single working mom, but I never thought about how easily I can shift gears from intellectual to sexual...and yes, it's very easy. And if it gets that far, it makes for interesting pillow talk afterwards.

It depends on my interest in the person. If there was that kind of attraction, sure I could shift smoothly...and quickly!

Happens all the time, it's starting to drive me crazy....
We'll be sitting there, innocently talking about the advantages and disadvantages of duct tape or something, really deep shit yaknow....and then she'll fire off a big word, say something incredibly brilliant and awaaaaay I go.....thinking of making the beast with two backs.....It's unbelievable; the duct tape a mere memory...she knows what that does to me....I can shift gears faster than a woman stuck between Nordstoms and a Shoes R Us ....

So....neither situation happens nearly often enough anymore, although the first used to afflict me on nearly every date.
Unfortunately, I am not a smooth and efficient shifter, but most times with proper and sufficient grinding, I can wind up humming along.
I am nearly in the right place to go back and play with that email now...

I can generally shift gears pretty quickly, but under certain circumstances, I'd rather finish what I'm doing first before I tackle another task.
Depending on how much interest I have in the person, I'd either get annoyed or welcome the attention.

That's strange. It usually works the other way around with me. From me talking about steamy and erotic, they suddenly want to talk about the Uraguan Peoples Liberation Front or something.
Hmmm... :)

Lacy.. I think people (men) shift gears on me because I take way too long to get to the original point that I then cannot remember... what was I driving at?
Actually I really enjoy this type of change and challenge to go from one mode to another - or one side of the brain to the other.
I am a chameleon, I shift, change, adapt and go with the flow... Erotic is almost always a nice direction to go from whatever. I'm infinitely adaptable but I also qite enjoy it if the "intellectual" conversation continues right through the love-making ... once in a while, once in a while..a very playful thing. Somehow it magnifies the erotic experience.
That's about as much as anyone will get me to reveal on line.. ha ha.

I sometimes forget to say ''how are you'' when I first talk to someone. ...so I'm talking to myself when I say that if we sincerely asked this question and waited for the person to respond....... before........ continuing our conversation..... then..... we could find out ''where'' the other person was at and take our cue from them as to what 'context'our conversation should have.
Perhaps another way might be to 'add'....what's happening or what are you doing.???? Usually when I call someone...I say.....did I interrupt anything....are you busy right now...or...do you have time to talk now.
Just common courtesy.......gives us a proper perspective...assuming of course that the person we are talking to realizes that we 'are' sincere and that they really 'can' tell us how they are... or.... where they're at ....when we ask them.
