Ok here I go again picking brains.
I have found over the years that the word "sweet" can be used as a female code word for "you are a nice guy but I am just not into you". Am I correct or have I just ran across some ladies that were looking for "sour"(the opposite of sweet)?

Dunkums, I don't know where you come up with this stuff, but it sure is entertaining.
The word Sweet, like the word Love can be used in so many different ways. If I tell a man he is sweet, BUT... then it doesn't look good for it to go any farther.
If a man does something from his heart, I will tell him it was sweet. AND, it will probably go farther.
So, to answer your question, it just depends on how its used.

Whenever my 10 year old uses this word in reference to something being "sweet"as in "That is a sweet car" I, without fail say to her "How do you know, did you taste it?"
So, loisday..I'm waiting for an answer..

Hmmm...I spend way too much time meditating about things while driving truck. That is how I come up with things. Glad I can be of some entertainment value! Actually I do get insight from people's responses.
Oh and although I am sure it is just an oversight, I am wondering how my high school nickname got turned into something that sounds like a name of a doughnut! Although I am sure my ex's would like to dunk me and hold me down, my nickname is a play off of my real name Duke. Thus....dukums.

Oh, no! I've been called "sweetie" . Rest easy Robodad......I think most people use the word "sweet" as a term of endearment especially when a person is kind and caring, sometimes funny or they say something that warrants something more than just a thank you for a reply!

Now, if your girlfriend goes to a shoe store and discovers they’re having a two-for-one sale, then that would be sweet. But, if your girlfriend goes to Lover’s Lane, because they’re having a two-for-one sale, now that would be sweeeet!

As long as "Sweet" isn't immediately followed by the word "But"............you are in good shape!
