This is so true.. the test in which you are referring to is Myers Briggs Personality Styles. It has come in very handy being trained in it not only for my chosen profession, but for other relationships outside the workplace as well. It can teach us, not only what our "type" is, but the types of others. There may very well be a conflict say between an INFJ (me) and a combination of one of the E's (extorverted types). Yet, by understanding other types than your own, we can come to appreciate their qualities and what they bring to the table.

Okay, here's my problem with the Meyers Briggs test--I'm BiPolar. I get a different result every time I take it, depending on what kind of mood I'm in. What does that make me?

Vindybella, I agree wholeheartedly. Every type has something to offer, and it is a matter of finding the right match. I think the test is entirely appropriate and useful for an online dating site.

I find that I am immediately comfortable with those who have similar traits to mine, as we understand each other, but in the descriptions we are matched with those who have other traits. This makes sense in that we compensate for each others weaknesses, and that is the essence of a good partnership.
Reminds me of an old joke: Opposites atract; I was hard and she was easy.
