My rude date

I had a date last night that goes down in my history as the rudest ever. I picked this woman up at her house and we went out for drinks and later for dinner. While we were having cocktails, some guy she works with walks into the lounge, and she invites him over to join us. Now most guys would figure out what's going on and excuse themselves, but no, this guy plops his butt down and they spend the next 45 min talking about work and the different people there, just gossip stuff about people that I don't know and could give a shit less about. So, after 45 min, I suggest it's time to go eat. My date agrees, and then asks this Bozo if he wants to join us for dinner! At first, he says no, but then gets "talked into it" by her. We go to the Steakhouse, and dinner was good, but this guy: A. wouldn't leave, and B. wouldn't shut up. So by this time, I'm so pissed off that my ears are turning red, and I'm thinking about taking this dude out to the parking lot for a knuckle sandwich for dessert. Instead, I excuse myself and go to the head to calm down. When I come back, the guy is gone, and my date starts telling me about all this guys problems for a few minutes, and how bad she feels for him. Well fine, I'm just glad he's gone. So, it's getting late and I ask for the check. Well guess what, Bozo's dinner is on the check. So being the gentleman that I am, I didn't suggest to my date that she pay for her friend's dinner, I just ate the bill and took her home.

Today, she calls me and tells me what a wonderful time she had, and when can we do it again?

Can you believe anyone can be that big an ass?

I'm so sorry, Touch.
There is a bright side. At least you found out early how insensitive she was.

I can't imagine anyone being that ridiculously rude. You were way more of a gentlemen than she deserved. I think I would have walked out on them.

i agree with winter...sounds like shes not the type of girl you want anyway and if she wanted him there so much she should have been on the date with him and not wasted your time...hope all goes well for you and next time its better...and instead of paying for his tab i would have gave him a good serving of a knuckle sandwhich too, probably a good thing you didn't, not that he didn't deserve it...and her too, i know guys cant (or shouldn't) hit a lady but i would have if I was there (but im a girl so nothing wrong with teaching another girl a lesson or two)...

I'd definitely have made a comment about splitting the tab three ways, since it obviously wasn't a date....

I would give her another chance if I liked her but I would tell her what I didn't like about the date.

I had planned on asking him to pay for his own, well actually I just figured he would since it's the right thing to do, but he left while I was in the head, so there was no chance to ask.

Was this planned by her? I doubt it, she's just an airhead, and she didn't exibit any body language that showed she was attracted to the guy. I think she was clueless that what she did was wrong, and the guy is just a mooch. If I ever see him again, I'll collect the $60 for his dinner even if I have to take it out of his hide.

I think she was rude but he was much ruder! Wow, that was an expensive supper!! I just can't help but think that could have been planned. I wouldn't even do that with someone I have dated for a while!

They were both very rude, but as someone mentioned, it's good to know she's like that now rather than later.

Look at it this way.

Better to have a rude date than a dude rate.
