One really good clue is when they're obviously ignoring you. lol. Not returning phone calls, or not answering the phone when you KNOW they're home. lol They always have something to do when you do talk to them. Not that I would ever do any of those things.

Yep-what Harley said... but-it has to be obvious and continuous over a period of time. Not just once or twice

Ignoring you.......that is simple!
That's the quickest and easiest way to figure out they are blowing you off......
Unfortunately, in today's high-tech world.......you can never assume anything......because voicemail msgs get lost/accidently deleated or heard by others that don't relay on the msg, or the cell phone msgs take a couple days to catch up to you......an act of God and the windstorm blew down the trees around your house and you have no power for a week, the computer crashed or email is down or was assembled in to the Borg.......and dissappeared....somewhere.......things go astray........and mis-communication occurs.......and some can jump to conclusions......get their feelings hurt.......and then......poof..........the damage is done........and one party might be too embarassed to call/email.......because "life happened" and they messed up or missed an opportunity..........or, maybe they just don't care enough to be "in to you" that they made you a priority.........and followed up!

I have a "friend", very special to me, who often does not answer mesages, e-mails. I wrestle with the "rejection" bit, (one of my "old" issues (!!). I have several times resigned myself to thinking: well, that's that. Come to find out (so far) that "that isn't that" at all. What I like to think is that if anyone has been communicating, special, etc. that the person will directly say so if he/she decides not to be in touch any further. Maybe too much to hope for, but I believe that a person who does not do that is very shallow -- and "we" are better off not "relating".

Some people have tried being direct (ask anyone who knows me out here in the "real" world, I'm not known for mincing words), but the other person is, shall we say, a little "thick-headed" and won't move on. Thus enters the "ignore it" stage.
As far as e-mails go Winter, have more than one e-mail address. I have (at last count) 5 e-mails (not counting MD). The odds of NONE of the e-mails working in any single day are pretty remote. Unless of course someone's internet connection is down altogether. If you e-mail them to a couple of their e-mail addresses (obviously explaining that since its the net you weren't sure it had gone through), and they don't respond to ANY of your e-mails, well chances are you're being blown off.
Simplest way to figure it out is to come right out and ask them. Good luck!!!!!

Sometimes a "bad feeling" isn't what it initially seems to be. Sometimes when you've gotten to know a person's "chat/posting" habits and it suddenly varies, one can sometimes "assume" that they're blowing you off. In some cases however, it's simply not the case. Something may have happened to prevent that person from getting in contact. With all the bad weather some states have been having, there's a lot of power outtages as well as phone lines going down. In most cases you need both of those things to connect to the internet. Give it a day or two more. Maybe something came up and they just can't get in touch right now.
