I am not really sure there are any real and honest people out here. The only people I seem to ever see on here are much much older than me and married or live in a completely different country. I just want to find someone relatively close to my age and that lives close by. Are you out there????

There are tons more dating sites than this, emiss. Yahoo, Match, American Singles, etc. You might have to shop around and find one you feel has better choices.
They won't be free, of course.

don't give up.there are plenty of wonderful men on here. what you may think will only be a friendship can easly turn into exactly what you are looking for. keep your mind open to more than just a relationship with a man and you will be surprised what you may find.good luck.

Hey emiss
You are so young. There a lot of places to meet people rather than here. The best place is in Church and events. I have met so many great people from my Church and God only knows. Just like what skinnybarncat says. Do volunteer work and Church single groups. There are good men out there. Best thing to do is do not take these dating sites serious. I don't anymore. But I have made friends and that's all it will ever be. Not very many serious people here but then again who knows "the one" may just come along without you even looking Hang in there!!!!

emisstledine, I just did a search for guys between the ages of 21 and 30 that live in Alabama and got 36 pages of results.
That's 360 guys in your state that registered here on this site. None of them are interesting to you?

Geez I had no clue that everyone was going to bash me for this. I wish I knew how to just completely delete this whole conversation. I have searched and seen the results but there aren't many who actually check this website or answer an email when I do send one.

I certainly wasn't bashing you, I was actually trying to help you by pointing you to the search feature. Not everyone knows there is a search feature here.
I also had no idea how many people you have emailed without having them respond back to you, you never said anything about contacting anyone in your first post.
Perhaps it is what you are saying in your initial emails to these guys that might be changed a bit for the better?

Well I typically try to leave the initial email fairly brief as to not come across to forceful just usually say that if they are interested they can let me know and we can talk more after that.

Greystone is right. A photo will get you more attention. Call it superficial or whatever but it works. I'm no treasure but I get e-mails everyday and even have to turn some down flat (starting to rethink that brilliant strategy)

They're right, without a picture you will probably get few responses. With so many profiles to look at with photos, most men wont take the time to email someone they can't even get a first glimpse of.
