Thank God I have avoided marriage and family life!
On a daily basis, ever more reasons are manifested, to remain perpetually single.
The horrible suffering and misery of marriage, shall not become my fate.
As a younger guy, ignorant and foolish, I might have taken a wife. I am soooooo happy that I did not make that mistake.
There have been a few women, who departed my company, after we had the "talk" about marriage. It is a joy that they are gone.
Now everyone, man or woman, has this choice to make. I cannot presume what others ought do.
But on my own account, no doubt intrudes, that marriage is an evil and vile thing.
It is good to be alone.
Is my opinion a lone voice in the wilderness, or do others share this view?

Me thinks your just trying to make the best of the actualities of your life.
Don't be so closed to meeting the right one. It could happen if you leave just a crack in the door.

I used to agree with you, Magickman...but NO...it's NOT better to be alone if you truly love someone. You may find that out someday. :)

I'm 47, and never been married. Still hoping that one day that will change. I'd like to make a commitment like that to someone, and have the same in return. Not sure if your post was sincere, or just looking for comments. Your profile says "LTR" so I wonder...........

I went on a blind date with a woman from a dating site.
It was a match made in hell. We hated each other.
But she told me that guys looking for dates online, should always say they are seeking a LTR, because this is more attractive to women.
I never saw her again, but took the advice to heart.
In fact, I enjoy having a dating partner, and like the companionship.
But,... my dating skillset is limited to short relationships, usually measured in weeks, or months
Correct me if I am wrong, here. My reasoning is that if my relationships rarely have enduring duration, then why would I expect that marriage would be possible or desireable?
Nearly all the women, who I date, have abandoned one or more marriages, for some cause or another.
Is there reason to believe they would want to stay with me, when they did not stay with the one, to whom they pledged eternal love?
So, no, I do not believe in marriage. I think it is a cruel joke, a great deception.
I like women, but do not want to own one.
