Later this year and fast approaching- july,7 2007 or 777, considered to be a VERY lucky day by some. People will be having mass weddings all around the world on this day.
Would the date of a wedding matter much to you?

Seems to me, it does to many. People have always favored certain months to bring luck, fertility, etc to marriages.

If you ever marry, would any of that matter to you? One month vs another more romantic or lucky ? than the others?

A good friend got married on 4/4/4 so he'd be able to remember his anniversary.

I got married on December 31st and it lasted 19 years until he died. Sniff, sniff..

Would I choose a special date again? Well, if I were EVER to do it again (highly unlikely), I would love to do it on a meaningful date.

Ever notice people never want to marry on their birthdays or Christmas?
I think its the gift factor..... as its better to arrange a special date that involves gifts SEPERATE from the regular gift holidays... so you can increase your gift qouta.

lol

Its not about the gift quota, but about the day being special for just that reason. My parents were married on Christmas Day. Their anniversary was always lost in the background of the holiday season. There was never any celebration of the event, no special trips, no romance, just family. We (my siblings & I) even forgot what would have been their 50th anniversary (my dad had died a few years earlier) and did not even remark on it to my mother, until she brought it up.

My parents had many happy years together, but one thing is for certain, if I ever am to marry again, it will not be on Christmas, or any other holiday.

That would be my assessment too. Much fanfare and acknowledgment as being unique on it's own merit, is overshadowed by the holiday. An anniversary should be able to stand on it's own and represent a very special time, all by itself.

June is the most popular month for weddings. Juno the greek goddess, wife and sister of jupiter...

Febuary also popular...symbolizes purification.

No-I haven't.
My ex and I were married on his birthday. Both were celebrated nicely.
Our split had absolutely nothing to do with the date of the wedding.

I got married the second time on 4/1/00...Easy to remember and we never did decide if we were fools for getting married, or fools in love.

A co-worker is currently rushing around like a mad woman to get everything organized for her 7/7/07 wedding, though they both wish 8/8/08 fell on a Saturday, 8's are much luckier in the Asian culture she says, and she'd be able to take her time getting everything accomplished.
