This phenomenon does exist so it's time to start talking about it and sharing your experiences. This is what inspired me to bring up this thread.

She's cute as a button

Astronaut charged with attempted murder
ORLANDO, Fla. - A NASA astronaut accused of trying to kidnap a romantic rival for a space shuttle pilot’s affections was charged with attempted first-degree murder Tuesday and a judge ordered her released on bond.

“The intent was there to do serious bodily injury or death,” Orlando Police Sgt. Barb Jones, referring to a new steel mallet, knife, rubber tubing and large garbage bags that police found in Lisa Marie Nowak’s possession.

Nowak, a 43-year-old Navy captain and married mother of three, had already been charged with attempted kidnapping, attempted vehicle burglary with battery, destruction of evidence and battery.

A judge ordered an additional $10,000 bail to the $15,500 set earlier in the day. She also was ordered to stay away from the other woman and wear a monitoring device.

If convicted of attempted murder, she faces between 30 years and life in prison, police said.

Chief astronaut Steve Lindsey, who flew with Nowak to the international space station last July aboard space shuttle Discovery, and fellow astronaut Chris Ferguson attended the earlier hearing.

“Our primary concern is her health and well-being and that she get through this,” Lindsey told reporters afterward. “Her status (with the astronaut corps) has not changed.”

Ferguson said he was “perplexed” by Nowak’s alleged actions.

Police said Nowak drove 900 miles, donned a disguise and was armed with a BB gun and pepper spray when she confronted a woman she believed was a competitor for the affections of Navy Cmdr. William Oefelein, an unmarried fellow astronaut.

Oefelein, 41, piloted the space shuttle Discovery in December. He and Nowak trained together but never flew a mission together.

Nowak told police that her relationship with Oefelein was “more than a working relationship but less than a romantic relationship,” according to an arrest affidavit.

Inside Nowak’s vehicle, which was parked at a nearby motel, authorities found a pepper spray package, an unused BB-gun cartridge, latex gloves and e-mails between Oefelein and Colleen Shipman.

They also found a letter “that indicated how much Mrs. Nowak loved Mr. Oefelein” and Shipman’s home address, the arrest affidavit said.

Police said Nowak told them that she only wanted to scare Shipman into talking to her about her relationship and didn’t want to harm her.

“If you were just going to talk to someone, I don’t know that you would need a wig, a trench coat, an air cartridge BB gun and pepper spray,” Jones said. “It’s just really a very sad case.”

Defense attorney Donald Lykkebak said Tuesday that he believes the attempted murder charge was filed because police were unhappy Nowak would be released on bail.

“I guess they didn’t like the ruling in court this morning, did they? You think they would have done it if she was still in jail?” he said.

YOu can't get a date? That was a very good joke because I know that can't be true! Maybe not a date you want, but I think you could have about 30, that I know of, if you batted your eye in a geneally assenting fashion!

That tends to happen when you steal your sisters boyfriends.

I think I had things in my life that definitely qualify: like my marriage.. and divorce .. and my last boyfriend.

Okay then, now I'm wondering what I have in my life that doesn't qualify lol Maybe not my last boyfriend He mostly didn't act psycho at all, just occasionally.

I dated a psycho for a while but I'm glad that she is now out of my life and has found someone else

Oh yeah? Did she marry my Ex? Or were you dating one of his sisters???

Righty then: There is a woman .. tut tut .. not one on MD .. who was a total psycho right at me and this Scottish guy I know in an online sort of way. And he's not on MD either!

Sorry but I have to do my "Please do not misinterpret" disclaimers sometimes.

I am still not sure what all she did, but I know it involved riling other people up, mass mailing his friends and mine, intercepting our emails and rewriting them, and using things I wrote to him to convince him that she was the perfect woman for him. Or, at least, trying to convince him of that.

She is a definite 'Fatal Attraction' type in that she needs the ultimate attention of everyone in her air space, really. She was writing to a friend of mine, telling him how the Scottish guy was a child molestor (he isn't!) and only after me for laughs, etc. He was believing her at first until she got really insulting about how I could never catch a man, for one, and then wigged on him for not keeping her in the top 8 friends list (on myspace).

From what he told me that was the wake up call for him, the realization that she was an attention grabbing psycho and liar to boot . because that was after a few emails, he said maybe four tops, and he had never put her in the top 8 - he just had added her on so she was on his front page until he added more people. And he was like "Why would I have added her on to my top 8? I don't even know her and she's telling me bad things about my friend and the guy she's in love with?"

Realized, after all this started coming out, that this was a woman I met when I was 16 or 17, and so was she, at a creepy little party in Alaska. After all this time, she still has not gotten over the fact that a guy liked me better than he liked her. And, as it turns out, that is why she went after the Scottish guy because she knew I would like him, he would like me, and we'd probably fall in love.

How did she know that? Call it magic, call it instinct, sometimes it all works the same. She was right, anyway, because I fell in love with him and he fell in love, in a way, with her because of the bits of her she augmented with my own writing.

Since then, she has revealed that she was married the whole time, she's thrashed at least two other guys lives, and she's gone after the "just turned legal age" son of her best friend and business partner.

Used to tell me, way back in the day, that she hated all men, was going to get radical breast surgery from a disreputable surgeon where she had her nipples reconstructed to be as big as . . uhm .. .. to be really big and get her face fixed and liposuction and fake breasts and the whole works .. and she wanted to get the radical nipple/breast thing done so that she could show men the scars and tell them she had cancer and felt bad about it so not to touch her breasts and torture them by letting them see but never touch. And .. arrrgghhh ...

So there you go, she is just one huge cock-teasing, magic practicing (and disrespectful of what she says is her religion) psycho with a mental grip like a rabid bulldog, too .. I mean, it was something like 17 years since she threatened to take away my "true love" .. what kind of freak holds onto that kind of anger, especially that was based on nonsense from the start.

So thats my story, one of them.
