So, my question to the class is; why are internet daters so critical and picky, and real life people so much more accepting, of the loveable quirks, that we all have? Well, I think you are looking for a woman with an extremely open mind. Someone who will take you for the person you are, including your nail polish fetish... That could be a tall order, but I am sure there is someone out there for you in this world....For every eccentricity you have, it narrows down the possible pool of matches you might find...
Just be open and honest from the very begining, and maybe you will find someone who doesn't mind sharing her shoes...

He wants precisely what he's getting. Tons of attention. Which he doesn't get on a cross dressing message board. Exactly. And if he's having fun, the least we can do is go along with it. Maybe some nice glittery ribbons woven into his beard? I think he'd be fun as a dance partner, and my dancing friends and I've already done the heels thing...where the guys actually wore dresses and heels and the women wore dance sneakers and slacks...and my favorite dance partner and I take turns leading (he likes the fact that "I lead with conviction")...but some girls just wanna have fun too...

This is not intended as a ranting reply for Magickman, but I just checked out his profile, for someone who's looking for a long-term relationship, he don't act like it when he's on the message boards, with all these topics he's posting about never doing the marriage thing; granted you don't have to be married to have a long-term relationship, there may be some women out there who can handle living in a situation like that without the marriage license (piece of paper), not all of us can do that though.
Maybe if you'd be more upbeat in the topics you're posting, someone may actually take an interest in you..and starting out your profile with "I am not your type" probably isn't the greatest way to start ~ that's a quick peek at your profile and then the gals just move on.

When you grow up, will you be my girl? Smooth line to a young lady, Magick.....now I'm even more convinced it isn't your mode of dress, but how things come out of your mouth that tends to make people turn the other way.
Do what makes you happy (as long as it isn't hurting someone else). If you’re happy with yourself and you feel that your modifications have been successful for you, you shouldn’t have to be seeking validation. The whining about not being accepted by everyone and the AGB (Attention Getting Behavior) is becoming quite tiresome throughout the forums.
I reiterate:
It's called mutual respect....and if one doesn't agree with another, don't get upset, just recognize the fact that the two personalities don't mesh.....accept it and move on.

Dude, let me ask you a serious question. When you go out in drag, are you taking your date to gay bars? AFAK, gay bars are the only places that men in drag are accepted. Pretty much anywhere else, at least around here, would end up with some drunk dude deciding he needed to punch you out. I see you are in Minn, and things are probably gayer up there, but here, a guy in drag would just be meat for the drunk cowboys and bikers.
If you are taking your dates to gay bars, do the women like this? I would think that a straight woman would not feel very comfortable in a gay bar.

I'd like to post something coherent too, but I'm uncomfortable with poking fun at an alternative lifestyle, and equally uncertain about Magick's motives for starting these kinds of threads.

For every eccentricity you have, it narrows down the possible pool of matches you might find... O dear, Daniel, you are telling me it will be a rare cold day in hell that I find my match then... I doubt seriously any one could be a match for me. I am too eccentric.

I am a nurse in a psychiatric hospital, and believe me I have seen MANY quirky people with strange behaviors. I, myself love to wear mens flannel shirts or sleep in their t-shirts if I am dating someone simply because I like to smell their aftershave when I'm not with them. But I've got to agree with Touch as far as where and when you wear purple nail polish in public. If you like it by all means do it, but PLEASE do not drive through these small towns in Tn. with it on.

No, lol...
I actually wore a moustache, and penciled in some facial hair, wore a suit and stuffed my pants with a sock.

I'm uncomfortable with poking fun at an alternative lifestyle, and equally uncertain about Magick's motives for starting these kinds of threads. I think his motivation's pretty much what Mary said - he likes attention. Why would he be any different here than he is IRL? Flamboyance is a way of grabbing attention - high heeled boots and glitter nail polish? As he said, he stands out from the pack. And I think that someone poking fun at him is no problem, that's just part of the attention he wants...nothing wrong with that as far as I can see. It's literally all in fun.

No spirit, I wasn't telling you that... Eccentricity can be a wonderful thing! Everyone has the right to be thier own person and be darn proud of it..... I am not one to wear nail polish, or don 6" heals in public, but what right do I have to bash someone who does... There is a match out there for everyone, even little old me... (I hope)
If everyone was alike, the world would be a very boring place indeed....

Yep, that is the truth. Some of us are just a bit more different than others. and some are a lot more up front about it than others.
