So tell me what does it mean when you say, "age is not an issues" or "age is not important"?
i always get this picture of a 40 yr old man with a 70 yr old woman and he's telling her he can't wait to get her naked
is that like saying i'll sleep with anything...

I think it merely means that he is interested in you being as old as you are and him being as young as he is...There's this one guy who wants a 60 lady and he's 20 something years old....

The same reason a twenty year old wants another twenty year old or whatever...Age doesn't really mean s**t if you and the other person like each other and enjoy each others company..That is all that matters..I you're o.k. with it and he's o.k. with it then it doesn't matter..The rest can be overlooked.

I think a lot of people who put that in their profile are looking for anyone who they will have 'chemistry' with or someone who has things in common with them, and the age isn't an issue with them as long as they can have fun and be compatible.

Lol, as the "older woman," lol, I can help a little on this question, and as a psychologist, lol, I can help a little more.
The young men who chase older women, and they are a thorn in my side, lol, are :
1. Wanting someone to mother them.
2. Wanting someone to support them.
3. Wanting someone to teach them.
4. Some just have this thing for older women. There are men my age who admit to having always preferred older women. Men are strange creatures, the first woman they have their REALLY awesome experience with seems, for most men, to dictate the kind of women they prefer for the rest of their lives.
5. Some are just attracted to older women, and sometimes they will run across one they will be attracted to, when they have never been attracted to an older woman before, then it is that chemistry thing. Just like I love blue eyed and green eyed men, a matter of taste. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

Why do you think that you "want to understand".
The answer to your question has been given and is easily understood. So, you must want something else other than the answer to the question that you asked. When you receive that you will better "understand" the answer to the question that you posed.

What's a 70 yr-old's "motives" for wanting a 40 yr-old, or 30, or 20 yr-old? Why is a 20 yr-old guy looking for a 60 yr-old woman? When it comes to relationships motives are ALWAYS an issue, nah, along with everything else.
I would think very few are in it for honorable, sincere, and practical reasons. There's a lot of dirty old men and young guys with a kinky mother fixation out here, so beware.
What it comes down to is research "why" a particular person is going after people with big age differences. We do this by asking pointed questions and finding out mindsets. The dysfunctional types will reveal themselves in the end, I assure you.
