A South Korean woman has set an unofficial world karaoke record after singing nearly 1,000 songs in just under 60 hours, reports say. Kim Seok-ok dropped to the floor after her marathon effort, which she said she undertook to cheer up her sick husband.
Ms Kim picked up the microphone at a karaoke bar on Monday and continued until Valentine's Day evening. She beat, by 36 minutes, the record set by a German man last year, South Korea's Yonhap news agency reported. Ms Kim sang for 59 hours and 48 minutes, with a break of just a few minutes every hour, witnesses at the bar in Seoul said.
She did not even sit down, even though the rules say she can. The 52-year-old said she did it for her 45-year-old husband who is fighting a brain tumour. Have you done something strange, or awesome for love?

I have done alot of things for love or in the name of love, but I can't think of anything that was particularly strange. None that I could mention in here anyways. lol I did do alot of automotive stuff. Ya know learning to replace a transmission and stuff like that.
Good topic though Loreli.

What does singing a bunch of Karaoke do for a brain tumor anyway? If I sang that much it'd probably give me one.

Let's just say Karaoke isn't my favorite. Of course it doesn't help that my singin sounds more like a bear growling than anything else.

I drove to Phoenix once. 1,600 miles, and did it in about 34 hours. I started at 8pm, drove all night, all day the next day, all night the next night and arrived the following morning. I slept in the college library and waited for her classes to get out.

I can sympathize with Lance. For my now ex, I drove from Michigan to Florida, picked him and his buddy up and drove back to Michigan. I left on Thursday night after having worked all day, drove home, picked up the kids and took them to a sitter, drove all night and the next day, just to turn around and drive home - didn't even get to see the ocean. Got home on Saturday around noon.
