What to do to help keep dating a safe?
In a public and at a time before it gets dark is best?
Say the personal information, such as your real name, phone number ?
What is your opinion?

I wear a blue wig, a trenchcoat and oversized shades.
In my bag I have a 9mm, pepper spray and a stungun. A couple of big undercover dudes follow me around inconspicuously reading papers at adjacent tables.
Never had any problems.

I always make the first meeting in a very public place during the day...restaurants are usually good. I only give out my cell number, don't give out my last name or home address until I am VERY comfortable with the person. I also won't go anywhere unless I follow in my own vehicle, that could even be for the first couple of dates.
You're right to think about this ahead of time!

said this in another thread about cell phones, so apologies for those of you that may have heard it already..........I make sure someone knows where I'm meeting him. I keep my cell phone on--letting my him know it's on from the start. (On mostly so my daughter can reach me, but also for safety!) Always have a pre-arranged check in time with a friend or family member, so if I don't call by that time, they call me. Meet somewhere that both of you are agreeable to.
Then--have fun getting to know someone new!

first meeting is public. I don't worry about phones and such. But I am male. However I always give my home number to the lady and she can choose whether to block caller ID or not. The cell phone idea is a good one but again, I am not worried about those things because of being of a different mindset than a woman should be. Since I don't date ladies bigger than me, I am not worried about being beaten up or such, and if I can be just a little bit bad here.......would I really complain if I was raped? LOL

Isn't that like...an oxymoron?
I always figger if I can get a female to go hang gliding with me on the first date...or drag race with me on I-80 after midnight...she's willing to take on the less risky stuff...like getting nekkid.
Since 99% of the women I've dated are women I've known for a long time, we've already gone way beyond being safe. Now its more like "how do I find redemption?"

Safe? Meet in a public place, and don't get talked into leaving for "somewhere more private" on the first date. Get as much info on the person as you can, and if they seem slippery, run a background check on them. Find out where their wife works, where their mistress lives, how many children they are paying child support for, etc. When they arrive, have your bodyguard pat them down for weapons and plant a GPS bug on them, so you can track where they go.
Then relax and enjoy your date.
