Everybody plays the fool...
- Sometimes.

There's no exception to the rule.. (Listen people!)
May be factual may be cruel (and I ain't lyin'!)
But everybody plays the fool..

What I wanta know is, how come?
Did we just fall off the turnip truck, or what?
Why haven't we learned the pitfalls in advance..
And figured out how to avoid them?

-MM

Anytime we take the chance and trust.... we open ourselves up to be fools...

so to avoid being a fool, never trust anyone....

So the alternative to not playing the fool is to shut yourself off and become cold and lonely?

Better to have loved and lost then not to have loved at all....

I agree with Grumble up to the point of......“Anytime we take the chance and trust.... we open ourselves up”...who knows what we are opening ourselves up to? It doesn’t necessarily have to be putting ourselves out there to be made a fool of. It could be opening a door to a friendship, a lifelong relationship or just an acquaintance (sometimes one that we‘d rather not even admit to!! lol).

How can one learn what is or isn’t right for us until we experience? If a relationship doesn’t work out, I think we sometimes berate ourselves too quickly by thinking we’re fools to help cover the hurt we’re feeling. If one recognizes and faces the warning signs, then does something about the situation, I truly don’t feel the person is a fool. Normally, others don’t think of us as being foolish until we tolerate/endure someone else’s poor treatment of us for an extended length of time.

Therefore.......I think one is only a fool if they ignore red flags or choose denial over hard cold proof.

it's just too bad it happens.
But it shouldn't let a person give up.

Sometimes, when you fall on your ass enough times, its just easier not to get up again for awhile.

I've been the fool because I was very naive when younger. It made me put up alot of barriers to keep from geting hurt again. But you have to open up at some point.

My thought is - If something happens once shame on you. If it happens twice shame on me.
