Hello, I am wondering if anyone else has experienced the same frustration as I have. I am here to meet someone worthwhile, a man I'd like to build a future with. I meet lots of men, 2 to 5 a week. Most come on to me big time...making dates etc...then they don't show and are never heard from again. Why in the world do people do this? Is this a game with them? Are they just trying to see how many women/men they can catch and then screw over?
I just don't get it...is there something to this that is above my comprehension???

to the forums!
Its nothing above your comprehension. Just like everywhere, you have to pick over the dead beats and wade through weeds. There are some good ones here, just takes some time to find them. Hang around and get to know everyone and you will see I am right.

what about the ones that send you messages. you "talk" for a while and then POOF they are gone, never to communicate again?????i think they tend to just pass the time by wasting ours- i would love to find "that" man, but, unfortunately it won't be on here!!! They will tell you that you are not too far away- WTH- We are all too far away- just wishful thinking on BOTH sides- i don't think they are shallow- i just think they are lonely and need a friend, as we all do...............

how about the ones you get into really good conversations with and then the next time you try to talk to them, they don't remember who you are
but then there is one or two, that would still like to meet you, talk to you on occasion, you haven't met them yet and now you're at a time in your life when it might work for you two to hook up, they say, this week is kinda busy but next week looks good, in other words, my life is pretty busy/cluttered but I'd like to get it more busy/cluttered LOL

I guess I'm lucky. I have emailed back and forth with some guys but when I met a good one, we actually met and have been seeing each other since Dec. I know a lot of ppl on here are what we call "players", but not all of them. You just need to be alert and careful I guess.

its been 10 years since I started playing the online personals... I've met hundreds of local gals, flew across the country and met many... of course better than half were no show's... it really sucks to fly into a strange city to meet someone, check into the hotel, and find out they no longer want to meet....
All an exercise in futility....
In all of this time I have intended to start as friends... and I'm still in contact with 2 or 3 folks as friends....
so I no longer try.... I make friends, laugh, have fun, but I no longer invest my time and energy into this....

Well thank you all for your imputs...I am glad (maybe not) to hear ya'll have some of the same problems. Yes, most of us are lonely, but to some of us we have no other way to meet the opposite sex. Take care...happy hunting..

The opposite of shallow = dense Wrong, but thaks for playing.
The opposite of shallow is deep.
The opposite of dense would depend on how you are using the word, possibilities include porous, intelligent, and vacuous.
