If yes, what amenities would you like to see; Location hotel/motel ballroom, bar etc. What type music? What would be a fair membership amount? If no, why not.

there are several single clubs here that put on biweekly dances and socials.... Unfortunately the people attending are all 65 and older... so after attending a couple I gave up

Good idea, but I'm a much better drinker than a dancer  I would love the social aspect, but the only singles dance I attended, kinda seemed like a meat market, not that this idea would turn into that, just that has been my only experience.......Music? well I enjoy classic rock, but like I said, I don't dance much......Where? wouldn't matter.

I agree Grumble...they are more like Senior Citizen dances..or the rejects of the city are there...all lined up along the wall just like in high school....oops....let me come back to the question...hummmmm...well the term "singles dance" is kind of scary in itself. Maybe if it was an innovative and contemporary thing..it might go over Swing......  You never know?

Well, I'm on the old side for your age range, but as much as I love to dance, I wouldn't make it my first choice for socialization. It can be really awkward adjusting to each others' dance styles and trying to make conversation at the same time. They say you can think of a maximum of four things at once, but I think they're overestimating (me anyway). I'm just coming back from a sprained ankle from the last time I was distracted on the dance floor. Now if you're on a first date with someone who's also a compulsive dancer, that's a whole 'nuther thing. You concentrate on dancing until you're too tired to move, and then find a quiet place to get to know each other...and if the vertical dancing felt comfortable, you're already on the right track...

I think any attempt to get people to socialize and live beyond the net is a good thing. Although I love to dance, without knowing anyone in advance, I would be skittish to be the first to break the ice. Yet I would applaud anyone who wanted to help people get off the net and into reality!

I would love to see a singles dance in our area, I do not think a bar is a place to have it though. And as for music anything but rap. As for cost I wouldn't know what to say. I know I have been to chat parties and they have a $10 cover.

I would attend if it were in Reno, and I can arrange for a good rate on renting a ballroom at the Nugget, as for music, any kind of dance music is ok as long as it's not so loud that you can't hear conversation.
Membership amount? That would have to be determined by the costs of the room, entertainment, and associated costs divided by the expected number of participants. If you expect it to be a profit making venture, I would expect a percentage for my hard work. But over all, more than $15 per per person and you won't have many here.
