Ever been Shanghaied by that ex you reaaly cared about? Dosen't even have to be an ex, just a person that meant something to you strongly and you either never knew why or did know why. What I mean by shanghaied is that you are either driving, cleaning, watching TV, or just out for a stroll and ....."THAT" song comes on or starts playing in your head causing you to momentarily lose track of EVERYTHING.
For me it's Dishwalla's "Every Little Thing." That same friggin song would play EVERY time I left her. That same song I heard again after years and I STILL pause and reflect on her. Damn her and her former Terrapin ass...
Does that ever happen to anyone here? Dosen't matter if you have ever told the other person or not, just that when you hear it, it causes pause.
What is that song for you, and why?

Aerosmith's "I don't want to miss a thing" for my son's mother. Her and Liv could pass as sisters... 
Bryan Adams - "Every little thing I do" for the first real heartbreak.....

Certain Stone Temple Pilots, REM, Sarah McLaughlin, and Smashing Pumpkins songs will instantly transport me back to the many, many road trips I took with my exhusband.

I was young......he was a little older. As he was telling me he was going to try to make it work with an ex-girlfriend, the song "Let's Just Kiss and Say Goodbye" started playing. Anytime I hear that song, it makes me smile and realize: How young and tender I and the relationship were way back then......How I thought my heart was crushed and wouldn't survive.....How little I knew of true love then and how thankful I am that I have experienced everything that I have!
We ended up having dinner a few years ago.....he, too, recalls the song playing.
