I dont personally like red hair. wouldnt date a guy with red. as shallow as that may sound.. just personal preference.Neve liked from when I first started dating..
My bro and his kids have red hair.and have red haired friends.. but err no thanks I'd leave them for someone else to appreciate lol..

whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa... What? Did I just read what I thought I read?
I'll have you know that I am a redhead. And, like that old commercial, when I was a child, I used to think my red hair made me different. Now that I am an adult, I realize my red hair is what has made me... me!
As for redheads and being desirable... I can't leave my house without being hit on! There's an old statement that few people know in it's entirety, "gentlemen prefer blondes, but it takes a real man to handle a redhead." We are feisty, spirited and a lot of fun to be around. Just don't piss us off!
I know the comparison between redheaded men and women are completely different. Granted, red women get all the best marketing: Ann Margaret, Nicole Kidman and Julia Roberts. What do red guys get? Ralph Malph (Happy Days), Howdy Doody and Danny Bonaduchi. Sadly, red men do get blasted.
But, from what I see, it's your attitude, not your hair. "Or am I just ugly?" What a horrible thing to say. Confidence is the key, not hair color. Plus, as a guy, you MUST realize that the last 20 guys before you said,"hello" to her lied to her, cheated on her,used her and where so full of it, you could not possibly be believed, no matter what you said. But,confidence inyourself andinthe way you approach her, that shows ...even brighter than that red hair of yours.

I had no clue Jen was a redhead...
When I was a kid I was picked on for my hair color...Now I'm grown up all I hear is "I love the color of your hair, I want mine that color, blah blah blah"...

OK, this won't win me any popularity contests, but I don't care for red hair on women.
But unlike like the OP, my assumption is that a lot of people must like it, because so many women seem to dye their hair red. To me it makes no sense. Whenever I see an otherwise attractive woman who clearly dyed her hair red, it just seems like a shame to me. It's my least favorite color.
I can't say it NEVER looks good to me. I saw one (apparently naturally) redheaded woman just today that was extremely attractive. But I'd have to say I think I would have found her even more attractive if her hair were a different color.
PS: Every woman on MD is beautiful, regardless of hair color!

I was a carrot top as a kid. As I got older my hair turned more blonde, was strawberry blonde I guess. Now it's got more silver in it. And it's all natural. Only once did I try to have my hair colored and I did NOT like it. So now it's just me.

There are some redheads that are hot, and some that are... not so much. Just like with any other person. If we are talking solely about the hair color, I like it a lot.
Seeing a redhead on a bright, slightly overcast day, when all the colors are sharper and vivid, always makes me stop and stare for a second. A coppery ocean, waves crashing with each step. Red hair

My mom was an auburn most of her life till she turned grey .. and all my kids were born with a swath of red at the nape of their necks as was I ... and my little one goes reddish in the summertime .. its truly a beautiful color ..I have always liked red hair (auburn ginger carrot top) myself... dated more than a few guys with red hair ...and well mine will do the reddish thing to in the summer if left of it own accord   but I have helped it along for so long it looks strange to me now
