A woman I know, has accused me of being a fashionista, a trendy follower of fashion.
It all started innocently enough. This past weekend, I had the urge to dance, but I was without a date. What's more, I was in a daring mood. And I wanted some attention from the ladies.
Easy to say, that, but much harder to accomplish.
Image is a concept I have been experimenting with. This is about self-presentation, and its social consequences. I like to press boundaries, and to observe reactions. My image experiments are to determine how apparel and accessories influence social interactions, and whether women will be attracted.
I had some new wardrobe items, that I was eager to wear. Yes, I was ready to cross lines, and to go for broke. My manicure was fresh, navy blue with gold sparkles. So I washed up, shaved, and dressed for the event.
At the door to the dance hall, I drew a few looks. Inside, a woman I knew approached me and said, "You're wearing shorts." "No," I replied, "This is a skort."
Another woman immediately asked me to dance with her. She said I was making a fashion statement.
The women were in a dancing mood, it seemed, and they were even eager to dance with me. Was it the skort?
"Where did you get that skirt," asked one. I told her it was a skort, from J.C. Penney. "And they let you try it on?" she added incredulously.
I was wearing black oxford shoes with 4" stiletto heels, and some of the gals wanted to know why. "Just for fun," I answered.
That was only the beginning, though. Through the evening, women literally lined up to dance with me, even though I am not a particularly good dancer. I guess they wanted to have the experience of dancing with the man in stilettos and a skort.
My dance card was full all evening. I never before in my life had such positive response from women.
My woman friend said I have become a fashionista, and that is what attracted the gals.
This was a very unusual experience for me, unprecedented.
What voodoo affected the women at the dance?

My happiness about the mothership departing was short lived. The other one has apparently returned.
Honey, no offense, but you're a cross-dresser from Minnesota. That's NOT really a definition of a fashionista.
Except maybe at Walmart...

Sorry, but I wasn't asking about Walmart.
My question is, why did the gals at the singles dance respond so enthusiastically, when I dressed in a skort and heels? I thought the outfit was hilarious, but the women seemed to dig it. WHY???

Because they don't follow fashion magazines? I mean, you have to face it... Ladies at a dance in some godforsaken part of country can't really be taken as experts in these matters...

I have a question, though... Why are you posting these same threads over and over again? Shock value has long worn off.
Surely there are other topics that you can think of?

Becky, I think you're onto something here...
We don't know what goes on at those dances, but judging by his behavior here, I think you're right.
Here, he keeps starting a thread after thread after thread on the same old stuff. The reaction is always the same -- people are making fun of him, humiliating him, mocking and demeaning him. So he knows in advance the reaction and yet he posts over and over again.
Conclusion? The man gets off on being humiliated. It's a psychological disorder. Quite possibly he was molested and/or abused as a child. You don't just up and become like this coming from a regular household.
Instead of seeking help, he drives around in circles. Every time he passes through here, we receive the predictable drive-by. His cycle is about 2 months. You'll see him again circa June with the green nail polish, mini skirt and clogs.

It is a lucky thing for me that I do not depend on Matchdoctor to get dates. Or else I would be very hard up indeed.
Out in the world, though, there is more fun to be had. Despite all the comments, here, I have fun, and enjoy the various entertainments that are available.
So far, at least, I am deliriously happy, that I have yet to get married. Too many negative women for my taste. Singlehood has worked out better for me. Different strokes, I guess.

Too many negative women for my taste. It doesn't occur to you that some of us find men dressed as women downright repulsive (to put it mildly)?
If you think that's "negative", well then, believe whatever.

this thread is tff!! Did you seriously wear skorts? My man wouldn't even know what the hell a skort was, if I didn't tell him. I find this really funny and disturbing at the same time. Seriously, don't go into a biker bar like they, they will hurt you. If it is a true hard core biker bar, you could be seriously damaged.
