Do you think that there are a lot of phony men on here?

I have been using matchdoctor for the last few months. I find that I get tons of e-mails. Some not so much my type. But when I scroll through the herd and respond to a couple who avidly stalk me until I do, them they disappear after a few e-mails.

Not so much phony, although there are those, but many hurting and wounded types that when things get serious, or even show interest, then are confronted with the fact that they are not really ready or way too touchy. Many use the internet as a place they can hide from how messed up they really are. It is not just guys, it is ladies too.

I agree with Duk-it's both genders.
And yes, there are scammers, spammers, people who don't really care when they meet up with you, or open communication with you. It's unfortunately all in the luck of the draw...

As to the original question....on top of what Dukems said, I'd have to say that yeah, there are a lot of phoney ones too. So many just want to get laid, and will say anything to get there, but don't have the wherewithal to hang in til they can get it.

They may be able to be bogus on line.....both males as well as females. Meet them in person and see. If they are in fact bogus they will most likely not meet you.
 Duk told it as it truly is. Unfortunately there are a large number with genuine as well as constant big time drama in their lives.

I don't think most have any intention of hurting anyone... they get caught up in the emotional rush, and dive out of it... I've seen many "adrenaline, or hormone junkies" online... they build up intensity, and poof, we find ourselves cold, wet and nekkid in the ashes of an old fire... I've run across more than a few women who used that as a "modus operandi"

this might be your problem..you set yourself up to fail..then write here complaining about it...
what do you expect from a stalker??? How many "nice guys" did you blow off because there was something "not quite right" in the email?
simply put... they chased you till they caught you..then moved on to the next one...
