Yes, this sounds cold but not intended to be. So, hear me out.
The objectives of both the man-woman relationship and the business is to survive and thrive. Everyone wants to have a secure job that will last them for a lifetime. It's normal to want a man-woman relationship to last for a lifetime, also.
In a man-woman relationship, you can have 95% of the terms of an agreement in place and for some minute reason the whole thing will blow up. Someone will find a petty reason to negate the 95%
In a business, you can have 95% of the terms of the agreement in place and yet the other 5% can be negotiated out.
However, we know that life is full of negotiations, both personal and business.
Rhetorical question: Is it better to destroy a 'business' that is 95% perfect because 5% isn't perfect?

Depends on what the 5% was..if their 5% included cheating, lieing..abuse, etc;..then its better to throw in the towel..or squash it.. 
Don`t mind me I don`t know what i`m talking about..

If that 5 % of a business that isn't perfect consist of marketing, acquiring customers, having good satisfaction and numerous other things you better get rid of it or make improvements.
Same with a relationship. There is going to be a % that isn't everything we want but as tinker said, it all depends on what that % is.

Cheating, lieing, abuse in a relationship as well as marketing, aquiring customers and having customer satisfaction would definitely not be in the 5%.
All this should be resolved early on.

yep just cause 95% of the time he/she is the perfect spouse.. that 5% seems enormous when you are getting the crap beat outta ya or they are abusing your children THEN the tables switch and all the rest fades away but if its just petty things that are in the 5 % then the larger part should be considered

but Bo sometimes that 5% is all about the lying abuse and cheating and that will break a relationship faster than anything.. faster than money , appearance, etc

I don't agree with you on all those should be resolved early on, the nature of business and relationships is about growth.
If you believe once you have structure in place or a game plan and don't leave room for mistakes or changes you are doomed for failure no matter what it is

I just received one of THE most ignorant and vile emails form the OP I have EVER received from anyone.. just because I gave my reason why the 5% CAN be a cause for breaking a relationship... nothing more... I guess he didn't have the cajones to post it here where OTHERS might read it.. just behind the scenes nastiness

i look back and see that my relationships in life and business were just about the same. i tend to just jump in because i beleive in it. i tried real hard to sell new balance shoes about 15 years ago. i was very proud of those shoes! american made, just about every conceivable size. but, the monkeys had no idea what new balance was. neither Michael had endorsed them. i was unable to sell quality. thats the way life is. some of you folks pointed out advertizing. there is no doubt that advertizing works. how much crap has been sold just because of infomercials! i try very hard to not buy anything that is advertized. quality! i continue to look for quality. take a look at the profiles that the porn bots keep puting on matchdoctor. sounds too good to be true. LOL

Tink NEITHER of us stated ALL men are liars abusers etc we BOTH and 7times too stated that if the 5% if it consists of lying and abuse it CAN be a deal breaker
