I was reading back through this thread. And what went
through my mind about "How do I look in this?"
was the KitKat commercial. Just stuff you mouth
with KitKat chocolate and mumble your answer.

Ya just gotta be smart enough to ask the right questions ... instead of
"do these pants make my ass look fat?"
you ask "which do you like better.. these pants or the other ones??"
or even .. "pants or no pants??" 
I mean why would you BAIT someone with a question like that anyways?? backing someone in a corner with a question like that is just not cool

my way as always been honest first. you might not like it but then you know where you are with me. i am a bloke so sometimes tact is needed to smooth my ruff edges but honesty always wins in my book

I seem to find that everyone says that they what honesty.. and find few few people who practice it. Ever since I started being really honest I found that I only have 4 friends in life.. Which I'm ok with because I'd rather have 4 real friends then 20 fake friends who wont be honest with me or can't take an honest answer. Everyone should try putting true honesty to the test and see how others react.  Most people stop talking to you.

100% honesty for me, please but I agree with Bunny and Lisa - I'd prefer it nicely packaged.
Dukums is spot on when he says
not only do you have to deal with the lies and heart attachments based on lies, but you have to deal with how you were betrayed, disrespected, and how your life dreams were only a fantasy.
Also, if people believe they can simply lie their way out of a tight corrner they're more likely to stray or betray in the first place.

I agree with uknowsexic. I would rather speak the truth, as nicely as I can if I know it's going to hurt, and see how many true friends I really have. To me, a 'friend' who says one thing to me and another to someone else about me, is someone I'd rather not have in my life. They do me more harm than good.

Thing is you can be honest with someone without being cruel.. sadly some people cant grasp that concept...
example:
mom walks up to you with THE most ugly baby you have ever seen.. your reaction??
"MY GOD what spawn of the devil is that  ??"
or
" What a sweet baby  "
both are honest... I doubt if there has ever been a baby that wasn't sweet.. but one is just cruel and the other displays tact

If you don't want to know the honest answer to a question, then don't ask it.
