apparently some people don't know the difference between 'discussion forums' and 'chatting', making more and more of the discussion topics disjointed or uncomfortable for the rest of the members.

here's a reminder of the free chatroom we offer for your 'chatting' convenience:

Matchdoctor Chatroom

Tough little gray area there........its a fine line between "discussion" and "chatting"......chatting means talking (or typing) in this case.

Many forum posters dont like the "flow" of chat rooms.

then those that do (and there are some here) should use the chatroom for waving hi and kissy-kissy stuff to each other and allow the topics to stay on topic.

i don't know anything about the chatroom set-up. you'll have to deal with a tech on that idea.

the chatrooms have a feature that allows people to set up their own chats.... if they don't like the main room

I agree! Things get long and drawn out with the silliest things being said that have nothing to do with the post..always gotta have someone to keep us in line...:)

Mod!

In the chat rooms, people can have their own private room that you can invite your friends to participate.

There are many interesting topics here that are worth discussing, but it's hard to fight through all the moties and personal stuff.

I have never been there. I used to use other chat places, but I like the idea of posting and then getting up to do something instead of being right here all the time to chat.

I love all the forums and some of the blogs.

I didn't always though. It is something that a person learns after being on the net for awhile.

I have learned if something gets on my nerves, then I imagine it is getting on someone elses.

Lol, I look back at what people on another site had to put up with when Haban and I were flirting! You talk about going off topic and driving people crazy!

I have since told them all I am sorry and they still love me!

I like to have fun just as much as anyone else. It can get nerve racking though to go through 3 pages of nothing but smilies. Kinda a waste of time.

Now, it is time for me to read a good book, and see what happens while I am gone for tonight.

OK, but when is the last time you've seen that happen?

There's nothing wrong with smilies. I use them all the time. Of course, I do it well

It's not only the smileys. It several pages of "hi","how are you", "I am fine. How are you"....flirt, chatter, chatter, and sex talk in the inappropriate forum.

There's a time and place for everything..we just need to do it in the appropriate time and at the appropriate place. There's the chat rooms, the sex forums, and several threads for just chatting and the Mod is OK with those. But turning a large part of the threads here is an abuse of the free site when have been given and an abuse of the members who actually may want to discuss, learn from each other, and get to know each other.
