I'll tell you how i did it once and then i have two questions for you. Assume there were some events before these words:
We both come from good families and there is much shared admiration and respect. Our families joining would mean so much to each. For us, our love is a very deep well from which we often drink to cool the fires of confusion so often going on around us. For you, you mean more to me than the rains of all the silver stars under which we pledged our love so long ago. For eternity, I could hop and skip from star to star, never touching one twice and still never find the whole of you, thats how large you are in my life. If I am the Sun, you are the Sun's eclispe. For you, I make you three promises that for always you can by now well imagine would remain unbroken: I will work day and night to give you the best life; I'll move our heaven to insure your dreams and goals are given their full life, too; I'll never break your heart. Will you take my hand and we go have the life we always wanted and combine our luck to find the happiness so far so elusive? Will you marry me?
Questions: Did she say Yes or No? How would you propose marriage?
After a number of replies I'll give you the answer.

watching movies and hearing songs on the radio even reading poetry... i know love exists, how else would people create such beautifully moving art. why can't love find me?
I'm a girl and typically it's not "correct" to do the asking. but i think it would be terribly romantic to get asked in the most simplest of ways... a bouquet of Dasies and a snickers bar, a sweet poem or line from a song... will you be mine, forever?
*this little part if for a specific person who will never read this* maybe some thought about the ring you use for the asking not the cheapest thing you can find or "the family heirloom (yeah right passed down thru the generations my A**)" ... i've told you what i like and you saw the movie Hope Springs... she loved Dolphins - I love Elephants... DUH get a clue. also acutally meaning it would be nice... instead of using it to keep me from leaving you... just something to think about!
thanks for letting me vent. BTW if you actually said all that to someone, well, i know i'd melt that's for sure. i hope she said YES!

(love that photo, Burns)
I think she said yes. And I would be the proposee, not the proposer, so the rest of the question, I'll skip.

It was so funny too. Then after we talked about for a couple of weeks, he proposed to me on the other board. I think it is still there.

this song i was listening to made me think about this.. its a song by country artist pat green who i am headed to see tommorrow night.. sweet N Louisiana
dixie Lullaby My father had skin like leather hands like steel from a lifetime spent in the cottonfields though hed come home tired and dirty almost everynight he found the strength to smile at me and hold my mama tight while that old transister radio would play the opry out in the hall id sit and watch their shadows glide across the wall
and theyd dance to a dixie lullaby picture of love beneath the southern sky oh my what a beautiful life just like a dixie lullaby
i left home at 18 in a hand me down chevrolet packed my mamas goodness and my old mans stubborn ways it was college, work, and love then the babies came the youngest ones got his grandaddy's name and in the early morning hours when my children could not sleep. i'd rock them in my arms to a simple beat
and id sing them a dixie lullaby hush baby dont you start to cry oh my what a beautiful life just like a dixie lullaby
my father was a mountain of a man that was the description that i gave the morning that we laid him in his grave there with my mama by his side, we said our last goodbye to a man we thought would never die as i stood there in the fields of amazing grace oh how the tears ran down my face.
and i sang him a dixie lullaby well meet again, by and by oh my what a beautiful life just like a dixie lullaby
oh my what a beautiful life just like a dixie lullaby

I saw a video recently about a man who proposed to his wife to be.... He rented a room on each floor of this very exclusive hotel.. In each room had different colored rose petals representing his love for her...and each room had different candles and lighting....beautiful!! Each room was playing the same love song and each room had a close friend or family member...there was a professional photographer to take the most precious pictures.... She wore a white gown and finally the last room had a pathway lined with candles, and roses dipped in 14K gold......it was the most romantic, creative, thing I had ever seen! sighhhhhhhhhhhh Of course I have been proposed to many different ways, but the way this was done was not so much to show off, because he worked a regular job and had saved a long time to be able to show his love....his queen....his most extravagant love....

Well, your profile says single, not divorced so I'm just gonna guess "no." Although it was sweet!

Actually I did ask a man once. We were in the middle of a fabulous conversation and I said......."So what do you say we just go get married?"
He laughed his ass of, grabbed my hand and said ..."let's go".
I freaked out and went home.
All true!
p.s. I think she said no.
