I dont know why people even bother to respond to ads that are from Nigeria and other countries that are known to be loaded with scams and scammers. I'd think if someone did respond to one of those people, a few questions like phone number and some questions would quickly rule them out as subjects of interest.

The point is - they pretend they are from US ,but their profile usually doesn't have any picture . They ask for your e-address and then send just ONE picture of white male. ( If you ask for more pictures, they won't have any ). The next step - they either say they are already on a business trip to "Western Africa" or they are going there to work on some big project. (No details about the project will be revealed , no matter how you ask for them) . And , finally , they will ask for getting together and "spend the rest of lives together". They will ask you to make wedding plans , etc. ( no engagement ring in mail , naturally ) . The next step : they "get into trouble" and need money ( usually around $600) - for reasons like " unexpected business expenses", "not enough funds for the air ticket" , "sick employee/grangmother/child" , "tax problems" , etc. ( funny, sometimes they forget what reason they say to whom, so they get confused and start with one reason and then switch to the other ). The simple way to deal with them is - to agree to send them money right away ( that's what friends are for , right? ). You'll get e-mail from some guy with American name in the address field ( as you have usually had ) , asking you to send money to some Nigerian city to Nigerian looking name . My response to this usually is - " I know safer way of sending money to you, darling , other than trusting some middleman. You can get my CHECK in YOUR name ( the one he signed his messages with ) in US embassy in Nigeria, just bring your PASSPORT with you. Oh, and I also e-mailed them YOUR picture ( the one you sent me in the beginning of our correspondence) , so they will recognize you there. Looking forward to see you in the airport , darling! " Works like magic every time, ladies . I guarantee you lots of fun with this strategy.

I don't really worry about things like that. I never have $50 extra much less several hundred! No one would get money out of me!

Just started a thread on one that took 3 months to ask for money. He claimed to be from Minnesota and gave me his phone number (cell) and claimed he didn't have a home phone - he also gave me his address - but I didn't check it out. He never asked for money until today. I'll bet when I go to his county and try to check him out he doesn't exist! He sent me several pictures also. Nothing until today to make me think there was anything wrong at all. Well, the business trip to Africa did make me wonder when that happened a week ago.
Very scary!

I'll be sure and send you all the extra money I have! That would be less than the cost of a stamp though, so don't think it will do you much good :)

Being a recipient of the hunted by the hunters...lol. I decided a while ago to delete all my photos. Haven't received any hunters since.
I kinda miss reading those hunter mails though.

Honestly, I don’t mean to be harsh, but anyone who would fall for this at this point in time really deserves to be taken. (Or else needs to be in an institution where they can be taken care of.)
There has to be some point where a person takes responsibility for their own actions doesn’t there?
Don’t be a dummy. It’s that simple isn’t it?

You can have fun and obtain there IP address or even more fun get their email address after a spell or two and then hook them up on adult match doctor, under all the really bad stuff. Or if you really want to screw with them go hook them up at Publishers Clearing House. I filled a gmail account in a few hours with that place.

Yes yes f*** with em back. Its not bad unless ya fall into it. It can be rather entertaining. I like sending and forwarding there E's to each other. maybe they can screw each other. Junk mail too. Those free envolope they send with all their crap to choose from. I cram it full with the other junk mail and send it back. someone has to open them. enough and they remove you from their list, cause i just made that person job a living hell. Plus they have to recycle the paper for me. Live green!

I like your idea, send the prepaid envelopes back to them loaded with junk mail, that ought to have them remove you from their list lol. Besides, it is costing them more postage with you using their prepaid envelopes, companies don't want to spend money, they want to save money lol.

YES! Some have done that for years! Send mastercard apps back to an insurance company, insurance back to Sears...etc. (Make sure there are no designating codes)
