You know I love them.
What do you think? Why are we so turned onto the idea of older women, younger men...but often accuse women who want an older man of wanting a "sugar daddy"? Why the double standard?

< Desires for a younger woman with a sweet tooth.
Why the double standard?
It boils down to selfish interests, sex and money.

It boils down to selfish interests, sex and money. I mean no offense AS,, but it really has "nothing at all" to do with a persons (men or women's) willful choices to fulfill "selfish interests, there wants for "sexual relations" nor is "money" a chosen factor.. It all boils down to subconsciously imprinted "NEEDS" not to be confused with "personal choice" or "moral values".. Thats not "just my opinion" its an established fact in human behaviors.

I love older men. Some of them are so sexy. Of course most of the older men I like are politicians and journalists. I don't know, though.

I'm too energetic for most of the older men I've gone out with. Of course, the younger ones weren't much better. I need someone who has many many interests and is willing to share them with me.

Yeah, I agree. Em and I have a 13 year age difference, and it's no big deal.

Your OP is interesting LGQ.
Your perspective is that older women and younger men is in vogue and cool but older men and younger women is not.
That is interesting because it is exactly the opposite of how things have traditionally been viewed until very recently.
Traditionally, throughout hundreds or even thousands of years of history as a matter of fact, the older man, younger women combination was not only the norm and fully accepted, but it was considered the only combination that the vast majority of people in most all civilizations all over the world ever even considered.
There are a number of societal (and I think biological) reasons for this. And, of course, in many societies, it is still the norm (including this one to an extent since in most relationships the man is older than the woman by at least a few years).
Only recently, it has become more acceptable and slightly less rare for relationships to include an older woman and a younger man in this country. But only very recently!
So it's interesting that you have the perspective that you do. In your entire adult life that is the way you have seen it. But it is the opposite of the way things were for many years prior to that.

I’m not so sure about the succinct part, but hopefully it is accurate!
And I hope LGQ knows that it is not at all critical. Just the opposite LGQ... your perspective is genuinely fascinating and interesting.

My ex was 17 years older than me! I've always dated older! And believe me, he was no sugar daddy!!! But, I really did love him! Age difference wasn't an issue, it was everything else.

I’m convinced from my own personal experiences that this “sugar daddy” thing is a figment of some jilted older womans‘ jealousy.
Sure there are some relationships like that. But there are plenty of “age gap” relationships that are as true in their love as any same age ones are.
And I think that works both ways with either gender.

I have dated older and younger, now that I think about it, I haven't been serious with anybody my own age....Not that age had anything to do with who I met, but an interesting fact non the less.

As a side note, I must admit the menopause thing does worry me a tiny bit, I have had a hell of a time trying to figure women out throughout my life, getting to know a woman during this phase of her life, might just drive me over the edge.

this “sugar daddy” thing is a figment of some jilted older womans‘ jealousy. You might be right on that, DR. It sounds like a label issued from sour grapes or ignorance!!!
