I don't think you can, you can know about them, but words don't tell you about their personality, and people are even different on the phone than in person.
Any other thoughts, disagree, agree?

Well, I meant this for the dating and romance thread, but it fits in here, too. Just because a person believes or doesn't believe, I don't think it says that we will like or not like them in person. Now, I will go put this in there, too.

I have never let a person's beliefs or unbeliefs keep me from liking someone or from being their friend. I didn't think that many people did. Maybe I am wrong.

I remember once working with this guy he was a atheist. A nice guy I liked him..He always used the Lords name in vain..I asked him one day..why he did that? If you dont think there is a God. He agreed with me. He said it was all habit. But it did make logic sence to him. And soon he stoped doing that all-together. So it does help to know the person face to face.

I think you can tell a lot .... their aura ... their words and actions
but its never a sure fired bet until you see them in person .. and experience chemistry and such ......
I like you Bev even though we have driven each other nuts on a few occasions when you canceled I was worried abut you ....
Happy New Year Bev and here is to hordes of rampant tall handsome men knocking our doors down in the coming year ...

I dont think so either Bev and I dont think you can "truly" know someone even after youve met for quite some time.Ive known my son since his birth twenty years ago and after spending the day with him yesterday at the Packer game Ive learned to know that I didnt know him truly. The only person you can truly ever know is yourself.

You guys crack me up. You can't TRULY know someone before you meet them in person. Applying that rule to religion, how do TRULY you know Jesus? I guess you have to meet him in person too. Yeah? And thats where all the hallucinations come in very handy.

One day you will Rockindude. Hammertime-Hallucinations are what you just used to claim anyone truly knows Jesus because nobody on here has ever met him.Like Rockindude said...So it does help to know the person face to face. You cant possibly know anyone thats unseen "truly"

Conversing via email, chat room, instant messenger clients, telephone, and even web cams puts each of the participants in a very comfortable and controlled environment. Even the initial in-person meetings or dates are well-planned.
Ladies may pique my interest with their physical appearance and words, but to proclaim anything beyond that is a huge leap of faith. I know that some proclaim "crushes" or more here without ever having met, let alone getting to know, the other person. This truly amazes me.
I personally want to see how they handle the real world. How do they handle themselves around children? Inconsiderate drivers? A clueless store clerk? Someone in desperate need of help?
Can you know someone before you meet them? I think not. Can you eliminate them as someone that you might have interest in? Yes, this you can do.

We've all heard you can tell what a person's made of, by the way they handle three things. A rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas lights. I think the above questions are also a good gauge. Good points, capo.

You can get them to mail you some pubes......that helps. As I previously wrote, you can eliminate someone that you might have had interest in, particularly if puerile humor does not appeal to you.
