I was talking with friends about how annoying the idea would be... but a lot of people have done or had it done to them, and some of them like it.
Do you think it's romantic for a guy to do?
Has it happened to you, and what were your experiences?

Yes. It was like a horrible American idol try out. It took everything I had to not make him stop or for me to not get the giggle fits.
There are just some times when you should NOT let emotion take over.

There was a guy at work who was also a performer. While trying to cheer him on, I bought tickets to a show he'd put together. He was so happy, he came to my desk, sat on it and began singing the missing parts of the Wizard of Oz' If I Only Had... songs. He had a beautiful voice, but it was just the two of us. I didn't know where to look...what to say...how long it was going to last. I could barely look at him and all the while he's looking at me....  Talk about awkward.
No. No to serenading. I'd rather sing WITH than be sung TO.

If you have a good voice, it could be romantic. Me - my singing voice is as bad as the worst of American Idol rejects. So, it's not the best idea for me!

I could like it if the guy had a great voice and we were alone. But if there were a lot of other people around, no way. It would embarass me.

 How is topic of conversation supposed to be related to the person's attire /lack of any? Isn't everyone , in fact, naked ...under his/her clothes?  I don't see any contradiction between human nudity and God. After all - humans were created in God's image, remember? Therefore , human body is , in fact, God's masterpiece for us to admire and praise.
Back to the topic : in public and alone , dressed up and nude - when the guy has a voice and a body worth flaunting it , serenade is extremely romantic. Made me proud while peformed in public ( with the orchestra at concert hall) and made me melt when performed in private ( wearing no more than a cowboy hat and guitar ...  )
Long live the tradition of serenade!

Oh now we are talking about something I am very familiar with.
I was sung to over the phone many times.
Then I learned Haban liked to Kareoke too.
He tried to propose to me with the song, " You look wonderful tonight" by Eric Clapton, and some how I stopped him. That was in front of a whole bunch of people too. ( I did get pearls though that night)
He is always singing!!!!! I love it. I don't care if a person can hold a note or not either. He can though.

I dont know. For me its not a question of good or bad. Either way, Im gona do it. Its kind of the i love you rule. I dont say it to hear it in return, I say it or Ill explode. Same with a song pulled out of the blue. Do or explode. And exploding could be messy.

it was a thing called humor..(I thought it was funny... )
let me put it to you in this way//
...Pammy was talking about a guy who sang well enough to perform in public and get paid for it..but in private him just singing to her embarrassed her... (no.. don't laugh yet as this part is not funny).....but CW saw some humor in her analogy of.. when two people are naked and doing the deed..one person should say...
look here...
but if only one person is saying it out of context.. ie: a man standing in front of her naked..saying it.. it falls flat... ( or is embarrassing if done in public???)
you can laugh now....

song to feetz, the 1st night we met.
Im not sure she thought it was romantic, in a casino in Atlantic City though !
