Obviously I'm talking about romantic relationships.
My question is geared towards anyone who had a relationship when they were younger that never quite got to that level, or maybe dated someone who wouldn't until there was a wedding ring.
Did the relationship end for that reason? How does that person compare in your memory with the people you have had sex with?

When it's love that keeps you together, strictly the mentional/emotional/spriritual aspects of a relationship, there's never any doubt that you're together for the right reasons, never any doubt that you're getting sex confused with love. Great relationships usually include sex, but they don't necessarily have to.
In my opinion, THE most wonderful relationship(s) that I've had were with someone with whom I did NOT have sex....and by far the most memorable, which is saying quite a lot, because there are some in my life (you know who you are) that I will never ever forget and will always treasure!

I did read this thread yesterday and wasn't quite sure how I wanted to respond...but I knew I would eventually!
I think sex can ruin the best relationships, especially when it enters the picture too soon. Honestly, I've had only 3 relationships in my 32 years and they all involved getting it on. I've only truly loved one of them and I wish sex had never become involved in that relationship. Ok, maybe not never but for a looooong time.

Ok, I'll play... My sophmore year boyfriend. Seems everybody else was trying sex out...I didn't want to.
He was a "tough guy", but he really cared, and didn't press it. We went to movies and sports events at school, hung out with friends. But no sex.
And I believe that had something to do with it-yes. (oops-the breaking up after a year) Peer pressure

Hell, YES! The most treasured relationships used to be ( and are and always be ) with the ladies who possess this irresistible personality which makes it possible to keep relationship fresh and , yes, SEXY , without actually offering sexual favors. ( The last pattern , I believe , is more common among women who have nothing else to offer in order to keep a guy interested )
